Keybinds wiping out - Page 10

Please trust me on this.

Multibar 3 is not page 3 and multibar 4 is not page four. There are 10 pages and 4 multibars. They don't match one to one.

I've got to finish up the elders on my daughter's toon this morning (just have to do the Northrend Dungeons). As soon as that's done I'll be spending the rest of the day running down this action bar thing. I have no plans tomorrow, either, so if I can't sort it out today, I'll try and get it tomorrow.

I'm not going to put out releases on this. I'm going to post some patch files in this thread. Keep your eyes open and we'll see if we can run this down and put it behind us.

what? according to vanilla wow there only 6 pages and when going down each one binds I set in multiactionbar 3 showed up on page 3 of there bars(I did this with no extra action bars show all of them making you have to do a shift 1-6)

anyways when i switch the binding grab they started working even when nui didn't have the text.

on another note you don't have a panel for page 2 action bars really lol, they show up in bonus bar 1 selection but anyways, I still trying to help figure this out, I have gone over Dominos addon coding and there something about keybinds but that didn't seem to be what we need. still waiting on them to get back so I can find it.

I stand corrected. I don't know when it changed, but the two bars used to have their key bindings reversed which is why I had them reversed in the config -- it always confused me that action page 6 mapped to multi-bar 1, page 5 to multi-bar 2, page 4 to multi-bar 3 and page 3 to mult-bar 4. I see that 3 now maps to multi-bar 3 and 4 to multi-bar 4 but page 6 still goes to multi-bar 1 and page 5 to multi-bar 2. I think it still confuses me ~lol~

The question is what to do about that. If I change the bindings, I'm concerned it will confuse the mess out of users who are already accustomed to the current configuration... though I suspect most people do not have either of those bars key bound.

Thoughts anyone?

yeah I saw that but that not a big deal, and I know what you mean, 1st time I used nui everything was backwards from vanilla wow and got use to knowing that, but for me I can get use to them in the right place, and for new nui users they will never know lol.

all I can come up with his a timing thing from login screen to char when nui fails to grab text sometimes, I know sometimes I login next day and binding are showing up on some toons, and other they still not. so maybe something in nui is breaking half the time hmm...

Save the attached file in [ Interface > AddOns > nUI > Layouts > Default ] and it will fix the left and right action bar key bindings being reversed.

Okay -- let's give this a go... save the attached file in [ Interface > AddOns > nUI > Bars ] and let me know if it resolves any of the key bindings issues for you.

There are two issues we're looking for a fix to:

After installing this patch file, and logging back into WoW, do you still have characters that you have to do a '/nui rl' before their key bindings show, or does this patch resolve that problem for you?
After installing this patch file, do you still have problems with the key bindings not updating to the correct actions when shape shifting as a druid, entering/leaving stealth as a rogue, entering/leaving shadow form as a priest or stance dancing as a warrior?

Please let me know your results.

This fixed mine, i logged in and the binds were all blank, i then bound one key using the Nui keybinding method and ALL my keybinds showed up after that.
I then relogged to see if they stayed and they did. TY much!

Still have to do a reload. Was I also supposed to add the actionbar thingy you offered a few posts ago? I saw that and shuddered because I made changes to that file, and dummy me didn't make comments (/hides from Xrystal) to note my changes.

I'll be damned... have we always had the ability to do that? ^^ Or have I just been a tard to do a reload every time? Jeeze I feel silly rofl. That's a hell of a lot easier than having to reload!!!!

Nope... the dashboard change is not required... that only swaps the key binds on the left and right vertical action bars. No biggie there.

This line that is in buttonbar .. about 3 or 4 pages back though

Not that one heh (or maybe it was rofl.. omg I haven't been to bed yet, and I have to be in ICC in an hour.....). I made some other changes awhile back to 4 different files. Without locating my changes folder, looking at the files, and proper sleep I doubt I can remember exactly what changes I made to where. o.0

Something with the sizes of the pet bar and top 3 actionbars, and I did something with the simple hud file.... added health and mana to my own and target.

sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep........

Scott.. will do! Lemme tinker tomorrow when I'm not so sleepy and I'll let you know what my findings are.

If I were you, I would use "WoW UI Designer". It's a lot better than using any other text program I've seen. It's easier too. (in my opinion)
You can try my copy of it, it works great.
You might have to get used to clicking [open] and browsing for the file, but it can label the line numbers and gives you a file structure for jumping between functions and makes functions minimizable like windows on a screen. You'll see what I mean if you try it.

Looks pretty much the same as it was before when I tried it. More visual than text based. I used to use my Visual Studio to set up as projects for my wow addons but since using Notepad++ I haven't gone back

Considering I only do lua based addons its perfect for me
