Discussion thread for Addon Man.

Description:

Addon Man is a simple drop down menu that allows quick, on-the-fly access to enable and disable an addon. Or even flip options relating to an addon.

Any addon can make use of the Addon Manager with just a few function calls. See the enclosed readme for more details.

ADDON MAN README 1.0

For AddOn users:

- Copy the AddonMan folder into your WoW\Interface\Addons\ directory.

- Ask developers of your favorite AddOns to make use of the AddonMan. Its easy!

For AddOn developers:

AddonMan is useful if your AddOn is meant to be turned on and off during gameplay. Perhaps you already have a slash command to do this - the AddonMan is a graphic interface for doing this on-the-fly. It is also useful if you have certain options you'd like users to be able to quickly turn on and off. For instance if you're using a loot filtering addon, and you'd like users to be able to flip an option for keeping Trade Goods or destroying them.

See the readme for more information on the necessary function calls.

Hm. I released mine here and at Curse. The other Addon Manager isn't available at either. Its a conundrum.

It would probably be best if you changed the name, however. Would make it easier on users who may be confused, or who may use cross-site updaters.

Hi.

I have updated Addon Man to version 1.1. Here is a quick run down of the pertinent changes:

08/10/2008 - Version 1.1 Changes
- Addon Man now automatically detects addons and allows enabling and
disabling of them without extra work from the addon's developer,
and also gives a message if the addon isn't loadable for some reason
(i.e. the interface version is out of date).
- Addon developers can still register options with Addon Man, but this
does require a simple function call for each option.
- Fixed frame level bugs ugh.
