Would switching to either of those cost me all the data I've gathered in Cart?

I'd hate to lose all of it since it took so long to collect.

I manually updated the toc files in the copies I have and they seem to be working for me. No guarantee they work as they should, but I get info on the mini map.

Just open the *.toc files in note pad and adjust the version number to 30000

Save and see if it works for you. I suggest making backups of the cartographer_mining / herbalism folders, as well as their respective lua files from the wtf\account\ folders.

In case it hoses your data, all ways good to have a backup.
