Gatherer vs Omen

I am having major problems trying to run Omen right now and it was suggested that omen and gatherer do not work well together so no more gatherer. Don't know if many are having this problem or not.

You can either run a different threat meter such as sThreatMeter or you could try installing gathermate (+gathermate_import to import gatherer nodes).

Most of my guild use gatherer and omen with no problems. So it sounds like it isn't just the two addons being installed being the problem.

Did you try running the game with ONLY Gatherer and Omen installed and running? If they can run side by side as your only two mods then that will be your indication there is another mods mocking things up.

I moved away from Omen after 3.1 hit but I used to use Moen and Gatherer together no problems, among some other 30+ add-on's.

I stopped using Gatherer as I dropped gathering profession on my main, but I had been running both Gatherer and Omen for about a year on my char and had no problems at all.

What is "gathermate" I don't find it using a search? I am looking for something besides gatherer as it doesn't have the features that I want to use.

Never used it personally, seems to be the poor man's gatherer at any rate. See if you prefer it.

GatherMate

You can also install GatherHud, Routes and Mapster They are 3 different AddOns that complement each other very well.

If by "poor man's" you mean "doesn't include a bunch of frivolous information such as who you received a node from, how many times you visited the node, and the date and time when you were there last", then you're absolutely correct. Not having all that cruft means less CPU usage and much less memory usage. Other than that, it's functionally the same.

Not only that you can get a module called "Gathermate Data" I believe. If you register for email updates you can get an email when the database gets updated

I used to use it and kept getting an email about updated nodes in the Data module every 3 days or so

GatherMate Data is updated on a weekly basis from WoWHead (or is it WoWDB?) dumps.

He means to refer to it as "Poor Mans" simply because it lacks marketing hype that gatherer has had.

Also : BIGPHILEZRGUDRITELULZ?
