Interface\FrameXML\ItemRef.lua:37:Unknown Link Type

Well I havent got any help on my Map Problem thread, but hopefully I'll get at least one answer for this problem. Randomly while playing (maybe once a session) I'll receive an error. There doesnt seem to be any pattern when this happens though. It's happened while hunting and while in the AH.

Interface\FrameXML\ItemRef.lua:37:Unknown Link Type

Any ideas where this may be coming from ? Thanks in advance.

I get the same error with KC_Items Linkview

From what I've noticed, the error only pops up when I click on an object that I have not seen yet. The error then keeps coming back whenever I mouse over anything that sends a tooltip.

A quick fix to get rid of the error is a simple one. Keep the error up, whisper yourself a item you saw last session (I usually use an item I have equipped), click it, close out the tooltip, then click OK on the error. Gets rid of it for me.

Interesting fix, vidarc.

But yeah, that's where I was heading with this. It's a bit of a problem with the changes Blizz made to the way links of previously unviewed items are handled.

Thanks for the responses. I think I may just drop KC_Items /Lootlink for now. It just pops up at bad times so will wait for a fix of some sort.

I was getting the same error myself. I tried the route mentioned above but continuted to recieve the same error. I've now gone so far as to remove my entire Add-on directory and rebuild it file by file leaving out loot link and KC items.

The error continues to persist.

Mind you I'm not a programming guru of any sort but I'm a fast learner, but even this one has me stumped so any wisdom at this point would be greatly appreciated.

I got this problem too.. Seems to be related to EnhToolTip from Gatherer/Enchantrix... Or one of the similar ToolTip add ons... anyone seen a solution yet?

I am running KC_Items and Gatherer and having no problems. It does seem to reside with EnhTooltip.

I sent two people here from the EU Forums as well, I believe they were running some auction house mods and possibly a few enchater mods too. One was running KC_Items and the other wasn't I dont think.

This happends when I do one of the following:

- click on an quest reward of a quest I got in my QuestLog
- click on something that's linked in chat
- click on something from my bank (i.e through MyBank or similar)
- click on something inside an instance which someone just looted
- rarely when I click on something in inventory

Altho it's very annoying when it happends the magic /console reloadui removes the error msg

No it doesnt fix it... Atleast what i noticed is that one of my characters who made a scan at the AH doent have the problem but the other who hasnt gets it from time to time and i need to relog to get rid of it.

I have the feeling whenever you find a object you havent "seen" it pops up.

It must be Auctioneer related and enchtooltips

Also what might cause the problem atleast to me is that allthough i have copied my old savedvariables.lua to wtf file it renames it to .bak and it doesnt recognise the old data everytime i login restarting the .lua continuosly..

It seems to happen more with crafted items than anything. Especially the ones you haven't seen before, but also the ones you have in your inventory ...

Someone suggested a "/auctioneer show-suggest off" and that it's fixed in ETT 1.0.7 which is for the NEXT version of their tools... We'll just have to wait and see.

I will have a look at the code for Auctioneer and EnhTooltip to see where they are loading a modified ItemREf.lua. I'm a computer programmer and I have fixed addons like BetterWayPoints where it was giving an error when you got a quest from an item. I will post here when I have news.
