Camera Settings: SaveView()

With the latest patch (3.0) it seems that using SaveView() to change a camera preset affects only the current session. After exiting WoW and restarting all the views are reset to the Blizzard defaults. It's probably a Blizzard bug since there seems to be no point to this behavior

In any case, does anyone know of a way to save the current camera zoom state to a variable, and then restore the camera to that distance at login?

you could probably do this pretty easily with an addon...i can't actually *test* addons anymore since my account is cancelled atm, but gimme a sec and i'll upload something.

(if that doesn't work, and there aren't any lua errors, it's probably because they changed the way views get saved so that they're not in cvars at all, or they're named different or something)

Well if those CVars used to exist, they don't anymore
I wish I knew why Blizz would want to reset the presets each session. Probably an untintentional side effect to making a bunch of things server-side.

well, they definitely were there in 2.4, so they must have gotten removed as part of the 3.0 server-side stuff. i'd like to say "it must be a bug so they should fix it soon" but we're talking about bliz so... x.x
