POI icons scaling

I would like to increase the size of these icons (innkeeper, etc) but the slider scale seems to be backwards.

When first right clicking on the map and selecting scale the slider for this option is at the very far left at .10 ... icons very tiny.

Logically if I move the slider to the right the icons should increase in size, but they do not. At approx 2.75 the icons begin to become transparent and disappear entirely at about 3.35.

Is there something truly simple I am overlooking here?
