Hello everyone,

We are very glad to see the response from everyone regarding the beta keys that will soon be available to qualified authors on this site. We hope that, in the future, Blizzard continues to provide us with this opportunity because it ensures that when the game is live, we will already have functional addons ready-to-go. Authors also have a tendency to find Lua bugs in the default interface before other users, so it provides Blizzard with a way to isolate problems that may need to be fixed.

On that note, we would like to stress that these keys are for addon authors only. If you are not an author, we encourage you to opt-in to Blizzard for the beta by visiting the account management page at the official World of Warcraft site.

We have seen a sudden rush of new addons to our site. Several have even caught our attention as being "clever" or "innovative" or just plain "cool" as they come in, and this is great to see. While we are happy about this, we would also like to point out that every addon is strictly reviewed by a team here, as it has always been, for security and legality purposes. On that same note, we do check to see if the uploader is the author, or otherwise has permission to upload the addon (which is one of the terms you agree to when uploading to this site).

To respect Blizzard's wishes in providing these keys to authors only, we have been following a strict, zero-tolerance policy regarding the upload of others' addons. To be more specific, just in the past two days, nearly 10 users have been banned permanently from this site due to uploading addons they did not develop and did not have permission to upload. Under normal circumstances we would issue a warning PM before performing this ban, however (as was the same last time), for the duration of this event, we will be banning any user that uploads content that is not their own immediately -- This is the one and only warning that will be given. There are too many people trying to scam their way into a key for us to take any other action, unfortunately.

Please be respectful of what Blizzard has done for us here, and ensure that you are the author of the addon you are uploading. If you are not an author, please feel free to visit the link above to opt into the beta system through Blizzard's site instead.

Together, we can ensure that Blizzard will continue to help out the addon community in the future, by enabling authors to stabilize their addons before the servers go live.

I think it's good that new authors are coming here. However, if they're just here to get a beta key then never be seen again once they get it, then it's not good at all.

Hey kinda new Here wanted to download sum Addons etc but for the sign up do i only need a 2.4 addon + acc wow And then i can sign up ? or do i need to do sumthing else

this is only for the author beta keys.

You don't need to do anything to be able to download mods from this page.

FYI, there's a US, PvE, Alliance WotLK Beta author guild already set up. A crew of us that were in the F&FA got it started. Look for someone in < Secure Templars > to ask for an invite. US PvE Horde still has to be set up yet, EU guilds to be set up yet.
