<3 Low Bandwidth site

Anyway to keep this theme by default?

Sorry, I've always disliked the current theme; it's far too convoluted. I like simple. I used the original WoWInterface theme until it was removed. /cries

Now you have the Low Bandwidth theme which, imho, looks MUCH better than the main site theme (with the exception of a couple minor fixes).

And I quote:

Our site will go back to normal and this made an optional style again

That's assuming I read that far.

Once I saw "low bandwidth .... enabled" I was like "ya ya, I know why" and didn't read any farther.

And I knew that you didn't bother reading any further, which is why I mocked you by quoting it.

Low-Bandwidth skin is really beautiful.. and loads incredibly quickly.

I'm with everyone that we should have this as a choice for a default skin..

I'm also digging this low bandwidth version, a shame it won't stay like this

It should be availble in the USER CP at the top of the screen as an optional style. If not listed now it will be when the site returns to normal.

So you can keep it this way if you would like.

Glad you guys like it, it was stealth added a couple weeks ago. When the traffic goes down I will be switching back to our other style however you will be able to select the light version in the usercp options and from a dropdown box in the footer when I switch back.

Personally i like the other one better. The high level of graphics give it great detail and makes it feel more like the WoW website. Though this one does seem to load faster but the other one loads fast for me also so meh dont really mind. I like the "Low bandwidth" as the title for the skin :P Saves you bw, eh? :P And yes as everyone said you can select this skin in the dropdown found in the bottom left corner of the screen or in the UCP section.

Yes it saves us bw however we have more then enough to use what ever graphics we want. The reason for the low bandwidth one being enabled is to allow apache (the web server daemon) to serve out more interface files and less style graphics. So really its not to save on bandwidth its just to free up apache from serving style graphics so it can focus more on serving interface files.

The default style will be back to normal in a couple days.

Glad to see this will be an available option!

Though this one does seem to load faster
Which is exactly why I prefer simple. In, get what I want, read X posts, etc and out. Graphics that slow down a site tends to cause my interests to drop. The old format was just far too detailed with graphics, imho. Put that in a shockwave, not a website where you gotta download every single little component when visiting the site. It takes a bit. For the user and the server. I'd wager a single hit to the front page with all the graphics will cause approximately 25-30 hits to the server, single front page hit, new person, at least 25 hits. Now multiply that by over 1400 people on the site. OUCH, talk about a fried server.

Glad you guys like it, it was stealth added a couple weeks ago.
It's a good add! Although I'd vote not have removed it from the original site.
Glad you added it back (well, rather added a new skin). I like quick sites. Now if you can just have some way to make the site two columns I'd be set.
