voice overlay lag

its not really an addon, its more of an outside program, but theres this thing called voice overlay which works with vent to display the names of people in your vent channel on your wow screen, however voice overlay makes my gameplay a little more choppy and laggy than usual, if anybody uses voice overlay can you tell me how to fix this?
