Tried this new top/bottom panel thingy. Looking for some feedback.
Does it look awful as hell?
(the idea is, the 2 corner panels at minimap and chat are classcolored, in combat they turn red)

Never mind everything else. The only thing Ive got semi-setup is the SLDT, not sure if it fits though.

It's not looking awful as hell, but may I ask why you have durability at the bottom and everything else on top?

And as suggestion: Better than turning the corners red would be Aggro-coloring, don't it? At least it would be cool...

I think it turned out really well, but I'd maybe put the bottom panel just 1px lower, so it goes consistent witht he text on it, like the top one.

Other than that, awesome!

I just quickly put up SLDT, not much thought behind it, will definitely change this around.
At the moment Im not raiding or doing anything endgame, just casually leveling, and I dont have the biggest need for aggro display. Its a nice idea though, should I ever start raiding etc. I think I'd try that.
For now, combat coloring is what I would like to have there

This UI is near perfection, well done.

Some feedback:
Leave the frames as is, too many hovering panels would ruin the balance you've achieved.

Will the main bar be moveable? I'd personally like it closer to the bottom (not all the way down), but some will like it where it is, or even up top.

Can I test it? Pretty please?

Is the red "Goblin Turbo Trike" bar the cast bar? Is it possible to change the red color to match the blue in the General chat button?

Looking forward to seeing a reply, this is one of the best interfaces I've seen in my 6years of play. (It even pushed me to creating an account just to discuss it!)

Nameplates should match the player frames & the font is perfect.

Nice job! I think it wants a pixel font (no he didn't ). The popping out looks great, but might lose effect if used more.

I think a little transparency on everything would look amazing.

Personally I could never compromise myself to sacrifice usability for looks, however I still like the general outcome of what I have not hurting ergonomics.

Oh yeah, gradients 4lyfe!

I've done quite some testing lately trying to improve/change looks of some of my UI elements, but I keep reverting back, fixing some minor issues and adding some QOL stuff along the way.

The last thing I tried was adding small 1px overlays to the borders of my panels, but something is wrong and doesn't really feel right

Oh yeah, I still don't get the overhyped mass obsession with pixel fonts, I mean, I do find them kind of attractive (in SOME cases), but completely useless when it comes to presenting important combat information. I tried all sorts of them even made a modified oUF layout to test it out in different situations, but, in a nutshell, it just didn't work.
So I pretty much just decided to stick to the font I've been using for like 5 years now already, and that's 'Calibri'. Though to tell you the truth I've been looking for some similar font lately to give my frames a fresh feel, no luck yet unfortunately

It gives me no small part of satisfaction that my first post on these forums, praising an artist for a unique and elegant style unlike others within his field, is aggressively and negatively shot down.

Thank you for re-affirming my beliefs in the human condition.

Regardless, I did mention that people using the UI would most likely want to move the interface. I do hope this pleases you in some small manner, knowing that when this is released we will not be using the bar in a place you disprove of.

Well it sounded a bit aggressive perhaps, but he's basically right.
The gigantic panel is useless in every way it seems.

It's a nice try at doing something "new" (altho a horizontal bar from left to right isn't something new), but it ends there imo.

I'm pretty sure Rosaa can make better, more functional interfaces.

She can always make it transparent, which many people have pointed out tbh.
I thought it looked cool, much different then some of the UI's posted here.

But I wouldn't go out of the way as the poster above to be almost aggressive towards it.

But yes, as stated (many) times before, UI's are a personal preference. Not everyone does everything hardcore, not everyone aims for top rank, nor server 1sts etc.

I personally like the feel of the UI, because IT IS unique, but I would make everything transparent and move things around, changing some of the shadows along things and such.

While this is a Feedback thread, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion (as that is exactly what it is), you do not need in anyway aggressive/rude.

EDIT: We need more vertical panels!

This is kinda funny...while I agree there are those that have a different taste in what makes a UI "perfect" I'll give one of my UIs as an example.

This UI I worked on for literally WEEKS getting all the textures to my satifaction (it was no small undertaking, I assure you) then I took it into a raid...HOLY HELL-O it sucked...and not very well. The "looks" of it I LOVED, more than most of my UIs but it was graphics overload when all the elements fired off at once(i.e. raiding/pvp).

However...this one UI got me SO many request from boards and in game; more than any other UI i posted. SO, to that end I say...if it works for the creator, then yes...it is perfect and for those that can admire such I suppose that's why we all spend hours/days/weeks trinkering with our UIs and I'm happy we play a game that allows such diversity.

So many circles I think there is a lot of wasted space that could be utilized more though.

I think that was my point in the UI honestly. I have done so many "bars". Short ones, skinny ones, transparent, dark color, class color, even text only UIs so making everything a circle just seemed like the next evolution for me. I love some of the concept (the UFs/party/raid frames) but the cooldowns/buffs/debuffs had to be SO HUGE so I could see them and mixing square timers with round UFs was horribad looking.

Anyways, I'm back to my old standby UI, the one I played with for so long and am the most confortable with but starting to feel like a change comming on so...lol

This is current, to stay on topic(think I posted this one already though but meh)



I will say, I have always loved my UI with a centered feeling - as the one thats a hot topic atm - as a healer I rarely get to see a lot of the action so having most info in the middle lets me look up from my Vuhdo from time to time.

I honestly hope that Rosoaa will release that UI, or at least make it available by request, once it is completed. Please do not let a negative comment deter you from finishing.

I love that as well, even when I'm DPSing. Helps me see who, if anyone is dead, if a healer needs an innervate, etc. That, and I'm dead on lazy and hate different setups across different toons.

Is that STUF?
