Copy Interface for all characters?

I'm currently redesigning my UI and have question that would save me a lot of time.

I use a general set-up for all my characters. Elements that are not class specific I have in the same place for every toon.

In the past, I've tried using the Profile option that many addons have. Yet, there are a few addons with which the Profile way does not work.
It may copy the properties but not the position, vice versa, or other such.

Basically I want to set things how I want them and then copy them to another character in the WTF folder.
I know a simple Copy/Paste won't work.

How do I go about with the copy?

Copy/Paste will work if done correctly.

Character Specific Saved Vars
1) Copy the saved var to the other toon's folder
2) Open the file (notepad or whatever)
3) CTRL+F and do a search for your the original toon's name
4) Change it to the new toon's name and save

Global Saved Vars
Repeat steps 2-4

No prob. I don't really trust addon profile systems either.
