Plz help large screen users!

Ok, this is a request for a mod for those of us who play on large screens (I.E. LCD TVs). I play on a 37'' TV and sit on my couch about 8 feet away. There is no better way to play! However, the in-game text is very difficult to read even with it set to it's largest. Is there a mod out there, or could someone make a mod that would enlarge all in-game text so that we can actually read the text?

Thanks very much!

How do you set it up to the TV like what without the resolution going downhill?

@Nightsmear

Most new HD TV's have a monitor port, and naturally have a high(ish) resolution.
Mine, for example, is 1024x768 - just fine for gaming

On an HDTV you really don't lose any resolution- I run a DVI to HDMI cable to connect to the TV, and I run WoW at a resolution of 1024 X 768

And as for ClearFont, no I have not tried it yet. How much larger can I expect the text to be?

Just for fun, here's a pic....

Is it just me or does that look stretched, like it's not the right resolution? Meh, probably just me. Hubby's the one with a widescreen and I don't remember if the login screen changes according to your resolution.

Yeah it is a little, but thats a personal preference.

At 1042x768 resolution its a resolution ratio (regular tv) of 4:3. Wide screen runs a different ratio of 16:9 for hdtv's, you can set them to not fill the screen but you get like a side letter box effect. a more natural resolution to use the ratio would be like 1280x720 where general monitor resolutions are 1280x1024 at similar settings.

Yeah, that's definitely stretched out. You may be able to correct that, though.

Wow on my 1.33 crt monitor lets me set it to certain wide-screen resolutions, even though the screen is obviously not wide screen. It makes everyone look really skinny, which is kinda nice when I play my dwarf. If you're using a stretch-to-fit type setting on your tv, that might be worth trying. The two effects should cancel each other out, so to speak.

You may also want to look for a setting in your video card driver that lets you change the pixel shape. You can use that to correct aspect ratio issues as well. I have a widescreen plasma tv that also runs at 1024x768. While I don't use it to play games, I change the pixel shape so that videos will look right on it. Otherwise, people are all stretched out and look fatty.

The aspect ratio is wrong. The reason it looks stretched is that 1024x768 is a 4:3 standard resolution. Look in your Video options for something more like 1024x600, or is a true HD tv it should be able to pull 1280x800, 1600x1080 or my res of 1920x1200...
