Quote from the site: The Omega Drivers are compatible with all ATI Radeon cards:
(PCI, PCI-E, AGP, Mobility, On-Board, Retail, OEM or 3rd Party)

Radeon Mobility (M6 and up)
Radeon All In Wonder
Radeon 7k Series
Radeon 8k Series
Radeon 9k Series
Radeon x1k Series
Radeon HD2k Series
Radeon HD3k Series
I have Radeon 9200/9250 according to "DirectX- diagnositic tool" (or whatever it was: from "Run" -> "dxdiag") so it should be working..

do you have restore points on? if so, a messed up graphics card driver installation is one of the things that restore points can fix. Rollback to the most recent restore point your computer has automatically made before you tried to change your drivers.

im guessing that when you uninstalled your old drivers you didnt have a backup copy of them saved, and you've been trying to reinstall the omega drivers, because you assume that your install of them was what went wrong. Well, maybe the drivers just dont work for you. You see, the newest omega drivers are always modified versions of the newest official ati catalyst drivers. Well, ati is on catalyst version 7, but it looks like your card only supports up to catalyst version 6, so it could be that there was no chance that the newest omega drivers would have been compatible

In that case you need your old drivers back. Since you dont have them though, i would just go to the ati website and grab the newest official version of the drivers that you can. Omega is unofficial and doesnt work for everybody. It looks like for your radeon 9250, the newest driver is this http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/x...rer300-xp.html

So uninstall the omega drivers again, and try this official version of catalyst.

i just checked the omega drivers website and it looks like my guess is right. On the download page there was the following warning.....

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Starting from Catalyst 6.6 and up, the following cards/chipsets (including Mobility) are no longer supported by the ATI or Omega Drivers:

Radeon 7k Series
Radeon 8k Series
Radeon 9k-9250 Series

For these cards please use the Omega Drivers v3.8.252 or older, thank you.

Valgas is correct. Up until yesterday I was without a GPU for a week. My previous Radeon 9800Pro was supported up to Catalyst 7.7 whereas my new X1650Pro uses the latest Catalyst 8.2.

Unfortunately the 9250 is a fairly "low-end" card so you prob won't have much success improving performance other than adjusting in-game settings and turning off any unnecessary programs and services.

Anytime

LOL. I hear ya on the new rig though. It pained me to spend $80 on an AGP video card when $500 or so could of gotten me an upgraded MB, CPU, RAM, and Video. Gotta live within your means though.

cool, glad that helped

I know firsthand the horror that you feel when you try to tweak something but instead break it. :P
