Update error

When attempting to update from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1 I get the following error:

Code:
Finding MMOUI Manager...
*** Error While Updating
java.io.FileNotFoundException: minion.jar
mmoiautoupdate.UpdateStatusFrame.main(UpdateStatusFrame.java:202)
Any quick fix out there yet?

Otherwise, I'm loving the application. Very handy!

What OS are you on?

I don't have a workaround for you yet, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're on OS X.

The easiest thing to do would be to reinstall; the packages have been updated to 2.3.1 there as well.

EDIT: If you do decide to reinstall, please be sure to delete your config.xml file. It is in the same location as your log file. In fact, it's probably better just to trash that whole directory.

EDIT2: Please read the following
Windows people: Can you try this please?

Right click on the shortcut on the desktop. Under "Start In" or "Working Directory" (depending on what version of Windows you're using), change it to be "C:\Program Files\MMOUI Minion" (or wherever you installed it).

Does this resolve the problem?

If not, can you instead try going to that folder and double clicking on minion.jar directly? Does that resolve the problem?

Thanks,

I get the same error on Vista 64 (in the top right corner it says unsigned Beta) when clicking the "Update Core" button, after it prompts to restart the application

I had the same issue. I made the mistake of installing the plugin first, then I tried updating the core.

What fixed it for me is that I re-ran the installer, and that updated it up to the current version.

BTW, I am runnning Win7 RC1 32bit

Did any of you install it to a location other than the default location? If so can you please tell me where you put it?

I will wait so that we can see if this can be fixed.

D:\My Games\MMOUI

I keep all this separate due to Windows having issues.

i hate to say it, but given how long it took me to sort through each and every addon to make sure Minion was finding the correct one (instead of something random/unrelated), and do trial/error on numerous addon dependencies (also random/unrelated, in many cases involving things not even available at WoWI), i would be very very very reluctant to delete my config file (and "in the same location as your log file" still doesn't tell me where it is, which is just as well ).

(once 2.3.1 was up, as an experiment, i tried ignoring one of these bogus dependencies, and had the same problems i had before: addons waiting forever on other addons that are not even available from WoWI; 2.3.1 does not appear to affect this.)

anyway, i re-installed, without apparently needing to do delete any hard-won configuration information. hopefully this will not come back to bite me.

as well, i was not certain, until i started up Minion, that i had the right thing. the download file does not embed a version number or release date or anything that could differentiate it from any other download file, and the install dialog listed version 2.3.0.

after installation, i do seem to have version 2.3.1. i will apply a start directory to the shortcut. next time there is an update, we will see if that helps.
