Looks like a GFX card problem.
Are you using an Nvidia card?
It seems that either the Nvidia drivers are faulty or the GFX card is damaged.
Can you replace the card with a low spec ATI one ? (or a newer if you can afford it^^).

-Try to run the game in windows safe mode (F8 on boot) first to check if it's a driver problem.
-Clean your CPU/GFX card fans and heatsinks

Well first of all.

Repair wow, if you haven't already.
Does your motherboard have a onboard vid card? if so then hook the monitor up to that and test it out.
Right click on the wow.exe in the wow folder and run it in windows compatiablity mode.
Reinstall directX
Run the computer in safemode.

Those are the easy troubleshooting steps i would take. If you still get no satisfaction let me know. There are more advanced steps we can take =)

Just thought of something else. If you installed fresh.

When you installed classic wow did you try to log in? And then the same with BC?

General Troubleshooting Steps

1) Try to run another 3D game and see if it works.
2) If you have multiple PCI(e) slots, try the card in a different slot.
3) Make sure you have:
- the latest drivers for your video card.
- latest DirectX drivers (you can obtain these at MS website)
4) Run Blizz's repair utility
5) If you are running a sound card, disable your onboard sound via BIOS (I've had this happen before where resource conflicts bleeded into each other)
6) Replace your current card with another one and test if the issue persists.
- if it doesn't, your card is most likely damaged from overheating/ESD and will need to be replaced
7) Try changing your resolution
8) On the launcher, in the top menu click Options -> Game Preferences -> Restore Defaults
9) Try running the game in "Safe Mode"
10) Ensure there are no video issues with DirectDraw/Direct3D elements by checking the "Display" tab after running dxdiag.exe. All DirectX features should be enabled.

Try what I posted in the other thread. If that doesn't work, uninstall your current video card drivers and install a previously released version of the drivers (they always have earlier versions linked for download).

Open the pc case, check if ur ScreenCard's fan is actually working when ur using the pc.

Also, if it IS working, check all your PC for dust (All fans and such)

Sounds like an OverHeating problem to me...

When did this issue first appear?

How long have you had this issue?

Did you make any hardware or software changes prior to the issue?

Are you having a similar issue with any other games or applications?

I do need some more information. I've done tech support for hardware and software for over 6 years. I'm A+ certified and have a degree in electrical engineering.

wow.exe is corrupt; I was having the same issue (patch related) and had to reinstall the game client. Problem solved, and I am back up and running.

I had a similar problem with my nephew and his account.

For him I switched to a new realm, created a new char and after
that he was able to log in to his normal realm and chars.

I see you are using an ATI graphics card. Are you using the latest dirvers, or and older version.

There are only a few things that could cause this. My gut tells me it is a WoW related issue. Have you tried a complete vanilla install? If so then it is more than likely driver related. I have an ATI 5970 and I haven't had any similar issues. I am using the newest drivers for my card. Head over to www.amd.com and check them out!

a few things I would try:

-install ptr client and try to log in.

-uninstall avast try; Malwarebytes, Spybot, and try using nod32 on a trial license. I've had viruses get past avast before.

-log onto some other online game.

-checking ports on your router (assuming you're behind a router)

-logging on from another location.

then tell us what's not working
