Essay Entry for Arena Tourney

So I'm Canadian. And I'm cheap. I wrote an essay as my "entry" fee to the tourney realm.

A Comparison of Video Game Tournaments in Canada versus the United States Video games are the same around the world, however the biggest difference between playing in tournaments in Canada versus the United States is location. Up here in Canada, we are limited due to several key factors, but namely the environment. Igloos may only be constructed to a certain size, which limits how many people can be placed within one. In addition, computers (and for that matter people) generate a lot of heat, which is counter productive to the stability of the igloo. That being said there is also another fundamental issue before we even think about playing a video game tournament in an igloo. That is the issue of power. If Canada were to even have power, how would you have an electrical outlet in an igloo? Water acts as a conductor, and ice is water in solid form, so there are a lot of safety concerns with electricity running in an igloo. Another issue would be when the igloo melts during the two days in Canada where the temperature gets above zero degrees Celsius. Water on electrical components is not a good thing, and as a result the computers (or giant thinking machines as we Canadians call them) would be damaged and not function properly. In sum, using a giant thinking machine is not practical in the uncivilized wilderness of Canada.
