Ok so earlier today i was digging through my interface folders and came across the shadow ui textures. I had always loved the v6 release art but not the layout. So after some judicious chopping and resizing i came up with this.

Basic frames in the center from left to right are:

Focus, player, target, Target of target. Focus and target of target art elements are hidden by default.

Far left are party bars, they will show up individually as new members join the group, they are hidden by default and just showing for the screen shot. Above the chat frames are xp (left) and reputation (right)

The actual native resolution is 1680x1050. I know the bar textures from the xp/rep dont match the unit frames, i still havent settled on what ones i plan to use.

As always comments are welcome.

okay, so i've been doing some modifications to my own UI as well the last few days, its not my top priority at the moment as i've been kind of busy watching a few shows i forgot to watch the last year or so

this is basically some artwork i got from the Wrath UI posted on this site as well, but with a few slight adjustments from my side.

currently i'm still working in the pitbull unit frames, but the raid frames for example, are a 75% match to x-perl so far.

any thoughts and ideas are welcome

i'm thinking of moving the omen and chat art a bit more down, and the focus/focus target frame somewhere else as well. still need to figure out where to place the hidden action bar wich is now below the chat

Lookin for some opinions

Just made this UI over the past week or two, just wondering what some people would think. Maybe I'll post it if people really like it. Who knows

Apart from the fact that you could have posted this question in THIS THREAD without opening a new one, I really have to say that your compilation looks quiet nice and well-conceived. I've seen dozens of UIs uploaded here (and on other UI-sites) that look a thousand times worse than yours.

So if you really want to, don't hesitate to upload.

The borders are too big, buffs for the target are clumped together, the portraits on the unit frames looks dumb, you main menu in the topleft is too small and out of place, and the bag icon is useless.

Imo.

I think its fine, anthough i do agree with dread on the fact that the unit frame portraits are poorly set up, i suggest removing the portrait and getting another addon that you can place a standing version of your character ontop of your frames

Just a few days ago Rabbit007 posted some art he was very proud of so i decided to download the textures and toss a ui together. Its still in progress as im not totally satisfied with the bar textures or the placement of the xp and rep bars i use. I prefer to make them additional button bars. May also need to go with discord for unit frames to better use the art layout. Anyway. Here she is...

Before people ask i dont post my UI's for download as im really lazy and wouldnt update them ever =P

Suggestions and comments always welcome.

Post A history of interfaces...

Shortly after I startet playing WoW I was a fan of customized UIs... This is how my UIs evolved. Enjoy
  • My first try, only did something about the unit frames to show more information and because the CT raid frames were ugly oO

  • Then I found out about action bars and other mods. I thought this was the best UI ever! Now I'm ashamed looking at it ;D

  • Ok, new character, newe UI. This was way better. Still I felt there were things to do (obviously now ^^ )

  • When I found out about top and bottom panels I was delighted. This fascination lasts till today.

  • Here comes a 1-year break of WoW. After starting again with playing I made this UI:

  • I was looking up UIs from other people and startet to think that less is more. I tried to clear it up a bit:

  • And with a lot of comments and criticism it became finally this: Air UI

The story isn't over yet... a lot of stuff is still to do ^^

Hope you liked it - Air

Very nice. It shows that all these cool UIs don't just come out of thin air, but that it's a learning experience.

Keep it up and good luck.

Your second one looks a lot like my first custom UI.

Back when Gypsymod was still alive. God I miss that addon

Alright just took some screens of my new UI as well. There's not much to see though, and I haven't added raid frames yet, and I still need to configure some stuff (SBF and MSBT).

Also, I'm planning to make the bars conditional as well (probably only show when I have a target).

Clean without a target

With target

All config modes open :P

Very nice p3lim, I've always been a bit curious about what bar addon you use?
