Can't access any mods or downloads

IE8 under win7, stock install, no mods, no blocking, no nothing. I can search for mods but as soon as I go to any mod page the page flickers a few times then IE pops up a box saying the site performed an illegal operation and it was forced to close the tab.

Does the site show you logged in when you search?

Also do you have java installed?

When I visit on my win7 system with IE8 the button loads fine. So trying to figure out why its not for you.

I just swapped out comps to test this. I'm using Windows 7 Beta 7077 and IE 8.0.7077.0 (without any IE addons) no issues downloading addons here from either my favs or from a random addon I find in a search.

Apparently it has something to do with being a guest, after I logged in it worked fine, then I logged out, tried again, and IE crashed but good.

No, it really doesn't. I have NEVER used WM.

I get home from work and try my other updater, doesn't work.
Check news sites, see that this change happened.
Try the WoWI updater, find out it is totally useless.
Try to update manually, find IE crashes
GET FRUSTRATED WITH THIS STUPID CHANGE.

Seriously tho, log out of your account and try to access a mod under IE. I've tried this several times now, if I'm logged in it works fine, if I log out and reload a page I've visited, IE crashes.

I'm not having the issue that you are, and I even tried Windows 7 (7000) Beta on a virtual machine and didn't have any issues. Other than not being logged in and having to do the PITA captcha thing, I was able to download several addons with two different IE's.

I'm using 32bit IE8 on 64bit Win7, not sure if that makes any difference.
