i skimmed through this so if this has already been said forgive me. I usually get this if i would "tab" out to windows while WOW is loading after toon selection, a quick reload or relog always has fixed it for me.

What you mean the one I just got today on my Night Elf Druid .... stress on Night Elf rofl ( due to another post noticing a class orientated bug with them rofl ) . I've been playing her for hours ( well sitting her in Dalaran while reloading the UI after code changes . no problem. Finalised the code and added a variable to the WTF and logged out. Logged back in and micromenu options = nil error occurred. Logged out and in again and it didnt, so Not sure what the cause was there.

Yeah, this used to be something that happened to me a lot due to my forever alt tabbing while it was loading. Trained myself out of doing that until it is fully loaded.

I've been seeing this issue roughly half the time here, can't enter anything into the chatframe, so I remedy the problem by logging out and back in. Bags are in place, chat frame buttons appear usually in the right infopanel, sometimes in the left.

You can actually still type as if the chat frame is there. Just remember what you're typing and type /nui rl. Saves logging out and in again.

OK back to being a noob I downloaded what I thought was the latest from the nUI site (verified tonight - last is 5.06.05).

Where do I get the latest?

I'm having some issues with connectivity to the site and a versioning problem there. Until I get it sorted out, WoWI needs to be considered the defacto standard source for nUI.

Hmm, just spotted something else with this.

I have logged into this character 4 times in reasonably quick succession then suddenly I get the options = nil with several nUI files. Did the usual nUI reload and noticed that my quests that had been marked as tracked were no longer tracked.

So, 1. it seems to be a timing issue, and 2. it does seem to be messing up the WTF settings so perhaps this problem is linked to the keybinds issue whereby the blank frames on startup messes up the keybind files to the point that later on it then gets confused what your keybinds are *shrugs*.

I do think that your problems with the blank screen, keybinds and the MicroMenu.Lua 236 error are linked. I think this is why as you fix one error another crops up. Find the fix for the blank screen I bet the other 2 go away. Just a gut feeling here.

Best as I can tell, things that used to be "ready" and "present" when the "VARIABLES_LOADED" event fired cannot be trusted to be present anymore until the first "PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD" event fires and I think even then they aren't always present.

I don't know Scott. I never opted for mine to be stored locally but I have a keybinds file on my computer.

Server side is default, yes. Back when I began testing I set mine locally (gotta love TweakWoW and it's ease of use!).

Hmm interesting. So the keybind files I have been looking at must have been old ones as I don't use keybinds to need to store them locally

Ah ... I see .. what I have been looking at are cache files. So I guess they are stored server side and get cached for use when we log in.

All I know is that before I set mine to save locally I opened up those files and had a peek. The keybinds that were in there were from back when I first began playing WoW, and none of them were any recent binds I used. For the life of me (I'm also too lazy to look) I cannot remember which big patch it was that announced server side saves of all that stuff. I do remember the announcement, just not which patch.

Well, this is from a fresh install. The macro-cache.wtf contains all my stored online macros and there are various other xxxx-cache.wtf files there too. At the account level and character level. Now seeing as this folder didn't exist 2 weeks ago one can only assume that the game created them. Seeing as I don't really use keybinds they are generally empty but the few tests I have made since installing it show them in the files.
