Massive Mod Author Burning Crusade Beta Key Give-Away and more!

This is getting a little silly. I wish Blizzard would make an effort to fix this. We've been waiting 7 days now for a key, while others who have submitted just yesterday have already gotten theirs.

So, a week later, I'm still keyless.

Still not key but.. I have a ironic story to share.

So, last night, I was tired. BC Client was still downloading, only at 40%. Left the comp online all night, but in doing so, it kept me up until 4 AM. I fell asleep, then woke up at 6AM. I decided to check the download. 99%. I go to get something to eat. When I come back, "Not Enough Space".. And the download cancels.

Well I didn't mean everyone, but I know a few people that submitted yesterday and got the key the same day. Although, I bet you'll get your key before I get mine, at this point. :P

Is it still possible to get a key? I am the creator of LevelRange, so should be entitled, but not sure whether you can still sign-up...

Edit: Okay, I have signed up and am waiting at ID number 535, meh I will just have to wait and see, hope I get one though .

The 'Correct' beta key issue address gave me the following response. ( I sent out another one asking how I could determine the phase I was to be included in. Still waiting for that response. )

Hello ,

There are currently several phases to the beta testing as we will not
be able to guarantee the phase that you will be included in. If you have
recently participated in a promotion that provides you with a beta key
then you will need to continue to check your email address for the beta
invite to arrive.

ahhh well, I'm throwing in the towel now. Gotta say that I'm not impressed with the way Blizzard has been treating the mod developers. Most of us don't really care to be in the beta to see how cool it looks, we just want to make sure that things will work when BC gets released. Pity tho, was looking forward to working with the new API.

Im not very impressed either. But meh, Im gonna keep trying. Since they can't ignore us without us being able to 'report' them to customer services, might as well try to get the key that im 'entitled' to. ;D

Edit: Although, that doesn't mean im gonna give them a hard time, of course. Just not gonna give in.

i was under the impression that this is not a contest and that i would receive a key. it seems very unfair that people who signed up after me received a key but i have not.

We're giving it one more shot (which goes completely against their policy) and sending out another batch to the names that had previously been submitted. They may not go until Monday morning though, given that it's already 6:45pm.

I read your post before you edited it, including the corresponding thread you linked. I've got to say, you must be one very patient person to deal with all of those ungrateful folks. I thought the majority of us realized that you had no obligation to do any of this for the modding community, but I think we might be in the minority instead. Still, I hope this whole experience won't dissuade you from doing something similar for the next expansion (assuming there are a lot of API changes to that one as well, of course), because I think the degree to which those of us who genuinely appreciate your efforts is far greater than the combined unwarranted disdain that the rest exhibit toward you, Blizzard, or both. Regardless of whether or not I receive a key, I offer my gratitude for the opportunity you've presented we addon authors, and I do hope that everyone else would offer the same by the end of this ordeal.
