Question for the programmers (future of Mazzle UI)

"Quote Mazzlefizz = No, that mod is redistribution of work that is not his and is a copyright violation and does not need to be linked. If people continue to not respect the basic rules of copyright, I will simply stop spending time developing for this community and not release any updates and make this a private project."

Are there going to be no further updates and bug fixes for this UI? Is what we have "it" for all time?

I had noticed something last night that was fixed by reloading the UI and wanted to post it in the bug fixes section. I don't know whether or not it would be helpful but more importantly I want to know whether or not it's worth it to even mention.

The overwhelming negative response to the mazzlegasms plus mazzleui has left quite a few of us jaded and rather let down. Right now we don't know about the future of mazzle ui.

thats all we have for updates for now.

You're joking right? You have to update now that you have so many of us hooked on this UI.

The mazzlegasm thing is funny, I laughed and never got a complaint about it. But I can easily see how people would not like it or how it could be considered bad for the game to use it in a yell like that how it was.

1. Could be considered a way to advertise a mod, so could be considered spam
2. Inappropriate for younger players

This UI is the BEST!!!!! Don't even think about quitting or not updating it. You have thousands of people messing with it and perfecting it now, if a Blizzard update happened and then it doesn't work anymore, we would all be really disappointed and hunt you down!!!!!!

Yeah. You're joking right?

That would be a crying shame. As far as I'm concerned mazzle is the best UI in the game today and has great potential. The mazzlegasm was (however unessessary) completely blown out of porportion.

It is good to be proud of something so well done, especially after so much time and effort has been put into it. At the same time don't let hubris get in the way of creating something that changes the way people game for the better.

Just for clarification, I'm not a programmer and I'm not speaking on Mazzles behalf. Just a beta tester.

This is simply the impression I've gotten from whats gone on, as such theres very little else i can say about the matter.

Support for mazzle is more the welcome though. God knows he deserves it.

Mazzle has done a magnificent job with this UI. Believe me we all appreciate the hard work and will continue to support you and spread this UI to all our friends.

The complaints about the UI like asking to add/remove/change features is just feedback and should not anger you or deter you from continuing this. People just all have their own views of what they like and dislike, you should just average it out and make changes as you see fit.

The Mazzlegasm thing is no big deal. You can add in all kinds of other humor, I think the only problem was that since it was in a yell it could be considered spam I guess. You know how dumb people are in this game, they attack you for even asking a simple question in yell or general.

Last thing I say is once you make a great UI like this, you should continue it as thousands of us are now using it and DEPENDING on you!!! lol..... if you are in any way considering giving up, I for one say HELL NO!!! You must march forward

i love the basis of this ui, you can read my posts ive torn it appart and put my own things in, adn now ive slowly een reverting back, (ya i got rid of necrosis for shard ace, and trinity went to go back to bongos) but hey, ive never heard a bad thing about this ui other tha it scares some of my guildies, after all they are simple folk who use stock blizz bars or simple ag unit frames

go mazz and friends, this mod must never die

¡viva la revolutiòn!

I did not want to comment on this, but I will. To catch up on the controversy, look for the thread on the mazzlegasm faq. A very interesting read. Both sides state their opinions, some state it coherently, some not so much. Mazzle & Cairenn say their part as well. I wont link it here, but it isnt hard to find.

The mazzlegasm is gone. Your opinion on it is unnecessary. Lets not turn this into another one of those threads; Let it rest in peace.

Mazzle is in the middle of a doctorate, too and the ass't coder, Tigerheart, passed away this month. The recent controversy burned out a lot of good will. Therefore, Mazzle needed a break to recharge lest burnout claim another brilliant and helpful gnome, like radioactive leprosy.

But, we all thank you: words of encourgement (I saw one "magnificent"!) really do help assuage the wounds we've all felt recently. Keep the compliments up with the criticisms; and keep 'em all gentle and genteel.

Everyone, /hug Mazzle and tell her to enjoy her break, come back sane and then manage/delegate MazzleUI so we all can keep it going like the Energizer Bunny of UIs!

/cheer pink-haired gnomettes!

I completly agree that this is the best UI compilation that i've seen in quite some time. I never cared much for these compilations but ever since i was mazzleUI i was completly hooked. (just from the screenshots while it was still in beta)

That said, to come back to the original question, would it be appreciated of people would look for bugs and possibly post fixes.

Hah! That was quick Cairenn =) How come authors don't get specific colors? I didn't see that in your FAQ.

That was a choice Mazzle and his beta testers made, to help folks find their posts, as explained in the thread. If you want to post in a special colour, nothing stopping you.

I'm not abandoning it, though I'll probably put less time into development than I used to. I also won't be answering questions like crazy any more. Since development is currently just me, that means it'll be slower and I might not do all the cool things I had planned, but hopefully others can pick up the slack on the questions side of it.

So far I haven't found any actual problems in MazzleUI. By a problem I mean something that acts in a way I don't want it to that I can't solve myself by changing some configuration setting. And there's always enough information to point me to the configuration options I'm looking for. MazzleUI is really solid.

I was so sorry to see the controversy about Mazzlegasms ... and I'm even more sorry to hear that it's drained so much energy out of the project. I just want to say that I hope never to be an energy sink for MazzleUI. I've been as supportive as I can be.

Tigerheart's loss was a real shock, even though I never met him. It's quite a blow.

Nevertheless, I shall be encouraging -- pink-pigtailed gnomelettes must stick together, after all! For Gnomeregan! Death to the squirrels and their evil plot!

Edit from Good Gemminie: I agree with everything except the thing about the squirrels! /hug squirrel

I have to say when I installed for the first time and had my first mazzlegasm, I chuckled like hell. I mean the faq was wrote well and gave the ui a lot of personality, but that yell topped it for me and made me grin more then a normal person should

Altought I am not a female gnome with pink hair, I am a gnome (here is my pic, it also shows the power of gnomes muhahahahaha ... another pic to prove my name ^_^, both pics were taken way before I even heard of MazzleUI, thats why its the regular UI) . So this is just to say my support to Mazzle for such a great job.

Thank You Mazzle

Just so you know, Mazzle, and I do hope you read this...

Your efforts on MazzleUI have been fantastic, and I can only speak for myself when I say I cant think of the words to describe my appreciation for your efforts.

The compilation/package you and your team have created is unbelievable. The amount of functionality you have included, in a simplistic uncluttered manner is just magnificent.

I am one of those who got the original release 2 weeks prior to 2.0, and have awaited MazzleUI's 2.0 incarnation with great anticipation.

I just wanted to let you know how appreciated the work is.

Thanks again.
