whisper yourself and it will work. I use that all the time when testing chat mods.

there might be an option to tell it to stay open or close during flight.

This thread is pure win.

With regards to DPS and Threat meters - all of your file size arguments aside which I think are not really a problem people worry about for addons since their size is so small - I tend to use 2 mods.

I like http://www.wowinterface.com/download...mageMeter.html because it seems very light on RAM and CPU - which as stated earlier is what people are concerned about now.

For threat I use either Omen or one that is built into one of the compilations I use. Threat got a major overhaul in this game recently - tanks churn out boatloads of it - you seldom need to watch it now unless you are in a severely mismatched group where your are either WAY over-geared as DPS or WAY under-geared as a tank.

rofl, I was always having this problem as healer - god darned mages - and as tank - god darned mages. Our motto was you grab it, you tank it. We found that very funny.

I haven't seen an option for it anywhere, but I will take a look through the menu in a little bit and see what I can come up with.

Deadly Boss Mods addon does that as far as I know, as in when I whisper my friends fighting I get a DBM Message back about the status of the fight and when it finishes.

I have a serious question

Why are we still trying to help a rude, needy and ungrateful person?

I mean at some point "rising above the occasion" just becomes encouragement for this sort of behavior.

"You can pile abuse on these chums and they'll still try to help you"

Do we really want to invite more like that in this community?

Make no mistake this is an open invitation for more abuse.

So I would kindly suggest we take his advice and collectively refrain from posting any information
(since apparently we have a self-appointed moderator in this thread)

Game play actually is VERY key to which addons are required, especially with regards to threat. The mechanics of the game have changed, making threat less an issue.

I wish you the best of luck finding everything you need.

well when some one is posting game play stuff in the wrong area I would point it out, they were just comment to someone who they could just pm to do it.
