Sorry I misunderstould your explanation about the panel transparency.. I see what you mean now.. it's a shame it's not possible.. dunno if it's easy to do but it could still be a nice feature to have the graphic kind of blend out (though not completely) as it gets to the top, so that the top part is slightly transparent..

on 1680x1050 the viewport is rather small, that's why I'm suggesting this.

I've done some testing with Cartographer and found that the bug occurs when Questhelper - Foglight is active, so it's deactivated at the moment, though it would be nice if it worked together.

Edit:

Would it be possible, and this is just a question/suggestion, to use Cartographer (if the user has it installed) to display the zone map at the lower right? This way all map notes and such would be displayed as well.. it would be really awesome.

i have confirmed this, but why would you need cartographer and the map in the lower corner up at the same time, kid a defeats the purpose of the map.

honestly i don't use the map in the lower right except when im in a BG so this doesnt bother me at all.

as much as it may be annoying, i think that it can be lived with wile scott works on the other stuff he has on his plate, like the vehicle panel and the to do list and other more needed bug fixes.

Have you tried the Thin Glossy Black skin yet? As for making a skin of that nature, if there's anyone artistically inclined, they are welcome to do so. I can make it into an optional download. The only requirement would be that the dashboard and top bar graphics need to be 2560x512 in height in PNG or photoshop PSD format... I can do the rest.

That sounds like a conflict between QuestHelper and Cartographer... I would suggest you bring it to the attention of both their authors.

That is something I may add. Does that map show the location of all of your party/raid members, PvP objectives and so on as does the Bliz battlefield minimap? If so, then I would consider replacing the Bliz map with the Cartographer one if/when installed. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't.

Thanks... I'm going to try and get my Lock to 72 tomorrow I think, so I'll try to work toward it if I can. The sooner I can get to that, the sooner I can do away with Bliz's vehicle frame and eliminate whatever bugs remain.

It shows all that information, as for the battlefield info, it does offer a map for that, though I am not sure if it can be called for the same way as the main map.. you'd have to look into that.. as said, I'm not an addon developer.

About the skin, if I make spots semi transparent in a PNG, will it work as a final skin as well?

No, not as a "final" skin... while the dashboard is 2560x512, is has to be cut up into chunks that are 512x512 and the converted from PNG to BLP as WoW does not directly support PND format for textures.

As for the map, the primary purpose of that map is as a battlefield aid to those who PvP and play battlegrounds, so that would be a prerequisite in my book if I was going to replace the map nUI has in it. Otherwise, I would only consider adding it as another information panel

Like I said; Cartographer does have such a map as far as I know, but you might have to differentiate between battlegrounds and regular zones in your code.

Once again about the skin; so you are saying it is not possible to have semi transparent parts in the skin? Just checking ..

No... that's not what I was saying... only that PNG is not directly supported by WoW. If you want to make a PNG with transparencies that "work" for you, feel free to do so and e-mail it to me... I'll convert it to an optional skin for nUI.

Hey. I started using nUI today and it is great, but there is one thing i would like to see in it.

Could you make little addition for healers, a option to change HUD's and target frames remaining HP display to lost HP like it is in x-pearl frames?

I can do that, but it would have to be system wide for that character... all or none. Otherwise the logic gets way complicated.

I'm curious what healers in general think about that.

honestly i healed on my shaman for over a year until the latest expansion and i never used anything like that. that would be better as a optional addon for those that want it. i personally would not prefer it as when im healing i like to see the percent health remaining.

I actually already went ahead and implemented it as it was fairly simple to do. I added a '/nui hplost' slash command that toggles the health display between health remaining and health lost. So those who like it as is can keep it that way, as default, and those who want to know how much health was lost can use the toggle.

Exclamation nUI Beta v4.05.00 has just been released...

Way too many goodies in this release to list them all here, please please please read the patch notes provided below.

The highlights though are that there is now key binding for the HUD selector button, the info panel selector button and the unit panel selector button, the unit panel now automatically switches between solo player, party and raid mode depending on your grouping and the really big new toy is that you can now ctrl-alt-right click any of the action bar buttons or mode selector buttons to change the key bindings for that one button without having to find it in the Bliz binding interface (this does not yet apply to the pet/stance/aura/shapeshift bars -- soon)

Notably missing from the update... the long awaited 15/20 man raid panel. Sorry... I worked at it and *REALLY* wanted to get it in this update, but it just didn't happen. The to-do list is getting shorter and the bug reports fewer and farther between, so it's getting easier to focus on these kinds of improvements. Sorry it didn't make this update.

Known Bliz / nUI compatibility issues...

* Right clicking a unit frame and selecting "set focus" taints in combat == this is
a known WoW 3.0.2 bug and beyond nUI's control. Hopefully Bliz will address it in
the next patch.

* Switching between windowed and non-windowed mode breaks nUI's textures and HUD -- this
is caused by a known Bliz bug in their video driver code and applies only to certain
graphics cards and video drivers. It is nearly random in terms of which mods it will
impact... anything from very complex to completely trivial mods are broken by this
bug but it is always mods that use custom textures. There is no fix. The only
workaround is to (a) avoid switching between windowed and non-windowed modes as much
as possible and use '/nui rl' to reload the user interface when it gets broken. It is
worth noting this bug affects Macs most often, but also impacts some PCs (such as
mine). This bug has been a round a very long time and no telling if or when it will
ever be fixed.

* If your mouse buttons 4 and 5 do not work for click-casting on unit frames, make
sure your mouse driver is sending mouse button clicks and not key presses. You can
do this by going to the key binding interface and trying to bind autorun to mouse
button 4. If the key binding does not say "Button 4" or "Mouse Button 4" then the
issue is your mouse driver or driver settings. Bliz does not support key-presses
as mouse clicks directly and mods like Clique cannot detect key presses in that way.

No I don't... however, I didn't change anything except their location. They start at the top below the console and build down from there. Just use '/nui movers' and you'll see the highlights for where they are located.

EDIT: In fact, I need to update the screencaps for the mod now since I switched it from the stone dashboard to the thin black... need new images with the thin black texture in them.

Hi there,

first of all let me thak you for that Ui i really like. I never really used other UI's than the standard from Blizz with some Mods but this one i really like, because now i finally have a place for omen3/recount without having my complete screen filled up with tons of crap.

Unfortunatley i have some (little) problems, maybe you can help me fixing it?

First of all and one of the most ugly "bugs" is that the combat log in the bottom right sometimes is shown even when i have choosed omen3, recount or the map . Then the text is shown OVER the information of Recount/omen or the map and i can't use it really. Only a refresh of the ui helps then.

So then i would like to see my XP in total or percentage in numbers not only in a bar. im not sure if i can handle that with the settings but a mouse over info or text would be great.

At last i play a daeth knight and without having the spec of a holy my "pet" has only a lifetime of 2 minutes. But this info, which i found on my charakter portrait before nUI is now totally missed?

Thanks for your help in advnace and please forgive my poor English, im from Germany.

If the combat log is not being integrated into the panel, then something else if conflicting with it or pulling it back out of the panel after I put it in there. Kind of sounds like the latter to me. I would suggest (a) think about what other mods you have installed and whether or not any of them might be altering the combat log and (b) try disabling any other mods you have installed that you think may be at fault or one by one until the problem goes away. I can only tell you that nUI parents the combat log with a frame it controls which is how the log gets hidden when you change info panels... if you have another mod installed that "undoes" that change, then that would cause what you're describing.

So then i would like to see my XP in total or percentage in numbers not only in a bar. im not sure if i can handle that with the settings but a mouse over info or text would be great.
They are shown both as a percentage and as numbers both on the HUD and on your unit frames. On the unit frames, the percentage appears next to the bar and the total in the name plate (usually) -- if they're not there, then this is another problem you have and I'm not sure what would be causing that unless your nUI load is getting completely broken by something.

hiya spiel,
i have always used xloot to control the loot frames and never used/ seen the ones in nui.....what's the difference?
