How to use U.S. Client to login China Server?

i have been downloaded a english version client.
now i have changed the realmlist.wtf into:
set realmlist "cn3.grunt.wowchina.com"
and i have used the wow.exe(6904) which from chinese simplify client to instand of it which in U.S. version(6898).

but when i run wow.cn.exe ,it tell me to select a server.but there is nothing in the realm list .
could you help me to fix it?
i am very worried about it.

if you change your realmlist.wtf into
set realmlist "cn3.grunt.wowchina.com"
and change the config.wtf to add this line:
SET realmName "YourServerName"

you will login to Chinese server perfectly.
but there is no characters in your server which you input, you will not login.
the problem is that if you click "Chinge Realm" or "Suggest Server",it will open a realm list window.but there is nothing in it.
i mean i cannot select a server because the realm list is empty.
in fact,Chinese client is different from u.s.
but the difference is not big.

i only want to make u.s. client to support selecting servers on China server.
i have try these ways:
1.use chinese client's wow.exe to replace u.s.'s
2.use chinese interface\GlueXML to replace u.s.'s
but i fault.....
i want someone to help me solve the problem.
if someone can tell me which file which chinese client used is relatived to this problem,i will try by myself.

thx!!!!!!!!

I *think you need a chinese client with a chinese CD_Key to access the chinese client. I may be wrong.

Something easier would probably be just to order the Chinese client from somewhere in china. I don't know if there is a branch of Amazon.com in china, but if there is you can probably order a chinese version from there. If not just look for other sites like amazon where you could order it.

Perhaps get a friend from China or who has a chinese WoW account to send you a 10 day trial? That way you get the chinese client.

I know you can use the Euorpean client and US client to go on each other if you switch one thing but then you run into problems when there's a patch.

Likely, it's possible but not highly probable to get the US client to connect to chinese servers - actually because of the language difference I really doubt it would work.

The US client cannot be used on Chinese servers. Reason is the clients are different. It is not config.wtf differences but code differences. You are stuck using the Chinese client on Chinese servers. If you want to use the US client you will have to get a US/Oceanic account.

Differences include version numbers, updaters, language code, etc. Not mention the PRC government has mandated the "fatigue" code so your play time is limited and that code is in the client. zhTW clients do not have that code but they use a different character set than zhCN clients.

Then it's probably some kind of kludge put into the localized clients to deter people from playing on Chinese realms with other clients. Keeps folks from screaming in case Blizzard decides to permanently break compatibility for one reason or another, especially considering all of the inherent differences between the Chinese realms and most others.

I'm afraid your best solution is probably what you're already doing. Create any new characters on Chinese realms with the Chinese client, and change the config on the US client every time you need to switch realms. It's a tiresome work-around, but considering the special circumstances, I'm surprised it works at all, and wouldn't be too surprised if even that didn't work in the future.

Just curious but why do you want to play with a US client on a China server ? Just being nosey. Feel free to ignore this question as you see fit.

I'm assuming that they're trying to get around the "restrictions" that are imposed on Chinese clients.

Interesting How would these restriction differ from Chinese to U.S Clients?

Undead skins ( no bones showing on chinese), and some other thing I can't think of right now.

But surely Blizz would have thought of preventing something as simplistic an attempt at a workaround as using a different client ?

One would expect server to enforce client versions to maintain this government requirement...
