Very annoying ad with sound!

In the last few days an extremely annoying advertisement keeps popping up when visiting the site. In general I have no problem with ads on sites like this. However, this particular ad has audio in it which is highly annoying and should never be allowed in my opinion. The ad seems to come from a company called GameDuell.

It would be nice if you could somehow block this particular ad. But I would actually also like to complain directly to the ad provider as I believe they ought to be made aware of this - it might well be against their policies (I certainly think it should be), and also because the same ad is shown on several other sites that I visit. Can you advise me on who to direct this complaint?

Note! I have no interest in using ad-blockers of any kind.

We absolutely hate ads with sounds as well, and they aren't allowed on the site. I've sent an email to our parent company asking them to look into it and smack whichever provider is streaming it on the fingers.

Can I ask what page you were on when you saw it, where it was on the page, and what country you are in? (Different countries get different ads). Also, what web browser are you using?

Thank you for taking this matter seriously.

The two pages I visit the most are the front page of www.wowinterface.com and the "My AddOns" page. The ad occurs on both of those pages in the upper-right area. Let me know if you need a screenshot. I am in Denmark. I use Safari on Mac OS X.

Btw, I get this ad on WoWUI all the time too, in case you are curious.

One reason is purely technical. I've not found any good ad-blocker for Safari sadly. I also don't like having a tool that messes with the pages in any way.

The other reason is more "political" I guess. I don't mind ads on free sites as long as they don't disrupt me using the functionality of the site. If they do, I use the most effective ad-blocker of all called "stop visiting the site".

I agree ... I see no reason to block ads. Especially on free sites ... heck I don't even notice the ones on here usually ... to busy looking at all the mod info.

While on the subject. Is the only way to get premium membership through Allakhazam??

I have no interest in using their site at all as all I play for MMO's at the moment is WoW and everything I need is here and I would find it a waste to pay for something I would hardly ever use ...

If that is the only way you might want to think about getting your own member system

All the sites at the bottom of the page (look for "The network:") has the same owner, and they have decided to take the premium membership on allakhazam (atleast thats what it seems)
