Changing the in game font

Is there a way that is not ClearFont2 that will change the individual aspects of the text in game?

I've heard it's as simple as plopping down a /fonts folder and inserting the font you want but having to rename it to match the text you actually want to change.

If that's the case does anyone know the names or can point me to a guide explaining how to accomplish this?
