Hi all,

A question that is not in the Blizzard's FAQ popped up into my small nut head, does the Authenticator is a limited edition stuff or will it be always available ?

Btw if you are in EU they got a restock today gogogo!

I do not believe it is "Limited Edition". Blizzard would not do something like that on a product that increases the security for it's customers.

I often wonder why people will pay such a high "markup" on something like this ...

Yes you right , if it is not a limited edition stuff you have better to wait a restock, I had bookmarked the EU store link and at my surprise yesterday they got a restock and they still have somes today. I saw one yesterday gone for 90$ on ebay.com , crazy ....

haha owned around 12-15hours of restock and already sold out, I think the price is going to increase soon, + the drop down quantity menu allows to buy up to 5 authenticator at once that is probably why its gone so quickly , I guess a lot are buying 5x authenticator for friends or eventually resell on ebay...

And who wants to buy it fore more $$$ in another shop or ebay? o.O

I got mine about a week ago but the shipping prices are just crazy. 6 EUR for the Authenticator, 10 EUR for shipping.

They aren't limited edition. Blizzard plans to make more. The demand for these is just very large. Blizzard isn't making these for profit, but to add security to people's accounts. The flash player incident got a lot of users nervous. They should get some more soon. However, they will probably sell out fast again.

I highly doubt the price would increase on such an item. That would only get people mad.

Well they need to release more ASAP ... stop the loser from selling them on eBay for $100 and to protect the not so smart from buying them

It's just a digipass go 6 authenticator branded for blizzard.. so I don't think that the cost will change anytime. ebay/paypal uses the digipass go 3 which is the same thing with just an different design (http://www.boll.ch/vasco/dp_go3.html vs http://www.boll.ch/vasco/dp_go6.html)

I see many posts that blizzard should pay for the authenticators.. and believe me they pay lots of money for the license to use them and the server license on their end.

If you want this for your network/software and you buy 1000 user licenses you pay €40 per user just for the serverside license. I guess blizzard got a special price .. but they still pay a lot of money for this.
