is there an addon that can show you how group member roll in real time? like seeing if someone rolls need before you hit greed?

If I remember right, there are messages that pop up in the chat log in real-time that say when someone selects a roll method.

Indeed, it's part of the default options.

It's somewhere in Interface, I think they call it "Show detailed loot rolls".

Also, in cataclysm, you can't roll need on something you can't use. Helps a lot.
