DAB Keybindings

Another problem.. I set the keybindings in the Key Bindings WOW panel, then press ok, then play as usual. When i exit the game (with the normal exit game) and restart wow the keybindings are gone.. Why? I'm tryng all but doesnt work...

Aye, same thing happened to me as well today.

Yep, same here. And it isnt just on a exit, any /console reloadui will lose the keybindings. I also lose a couple of options on some floaters.

use the keybindings in DAB, not the main WoW keybindings.

Yep, I know. Actually if you try and use the WoW bindings for the Main bar, Loz put in a popup message to tell you not to. And this is in DAB 3.0.

Press ESC. Click Key Bindings. Scroll down until you see the Discord Action Bars header. Scroll down to the BUTTON KEYBINDINGS header. Find the bar you set as the Main Bar. Set its keybindings. All bars that switch with the main bar will use those keybindings.

** IMPORTANT NOTE: ** This mod DOES NOT USE THE DEFAULT UI'S KEYBINDINGS for the action bars. Scroll down in the keybindings menu until you see the Discord Action Bars header. Beneath that is where you set your keybindings. The pet and shapeshift bars still use the default keybindings. It bears repeating.

hmm....above are his instructions from curse gaming. As you can see he says to do it from the WoW menu.

I am able to save 1-3, but lose all my key bindings 4 and up.

Any ideas here Loz? Anything we can do to help narow it down? It obviously isnt happening to everyone, so it must have something to do with our setup/other mods. I have a prety basic setup in DAB, using a few conditions, but nothing too difficult. I do still have Benecast installed, and CT_RA, but dont have any keybindings set for that. I can clear it all out, and start over, but wanted to see if there was anything obvious..

I've never been able to get the keybindings to disappear on my end so I have to assume another mod causes it.

Well this is happening to me as well. I have since deleted my interface and WTF folders and started from scratch. No matter what I do DAB will not save my keybindings. I have tried saving a profile under Misc Options, using per character keybindings in the WoW keybinding section, using a /console reloadui, basically any and everything I can think of.

Just to be clear I only have DAB installed at this point, and deleted my WTF folder, so I am almost certain it cannot be another add on causing it. All my other add ons before I deleted them saved their keybindings correctly. No matter what I do DAB will not save keybindings.

Update: After some looking around on UI World of War a lot of people are having the same problem and the solution is using the keybindings WITHIN DAB to get them to stick. Using keybindings under the escape menu is not working for a great many people, but keybindings within /dab are sticking. Hope this all helps.

I've tryed to bind the keys inside DAB, but it doesnt work.. I lose my keybindings every restart

I've read post in a ton of places saying the same thing, I have also turned off every mod but DAB and they still refuse to save.

A specific account of what happens though.

I create the profile, begin created the keybindings they will register fine upon creation.

If I /console reload
Or Log off the character

The bottom graphic from the original game UI appears, and I see the number appear on the key then it vanishes and gives me the error that I am trying to use a keybinding that isn't registered with DAB. I tried this on all bars and it is the same.

I have closed all UIs deleted everything but DAB nothing seems to allow me to be able to save the key bindings

I've even gone as far as to delete wtf/db

Here's a temporary fix from facboy on the worldofwar forums:

hum...well until Loz figures out exactly what is going wrong (i think it's a race condition), this is a temporary fix, all applied to DiscordActionBars/DAB_Initialization.lua: comment out lines 290 and 291 to fix the keybindings not 'sticking': --if (key1) then SetBinding(key1); end --if (key2) then SetBinding(key2); end change line 301 to stop DAB from messing with your 'save keybindings per character setting': SaveBindings(GetCurrentBindingSet());

I am having the same issue...I create a profile, enter the keybindings in DAB (not the escape keybinding menu), and they are erased upon log. I did a clean install of DAB (deleting WTF/WDB folders and disabling all other mods) and I still get the same thing.

Has anyone found a fix for this? It's interesting because it doesn't seem like everyone is having this issue.

I love the new DAB...the conditionals and pages are awesome!

Edit: Ah...I'll try that fix above when I get home from work.

I've been ripping my hair out trying to figure this out. To add more confusion to the mix, I went over to my laptop this morning which hsa the EXACT same mods as my PC, and they saved just fine. I have no freaking idea what the problem is...

Just got mine to work.

I used the DAB keybindings, not the ESC Keybindings. Auto configure did not work, so I selected each button, and it worked. So there is something between DAB and the WoW keybindings that isnt updating.

check and make sure none of your files are read only (the saved variables and keybindings, particularly). I've heard of it happening to people before and it took them forever to figure out that that was the cause.

Have you tried exiting the game? I thought mine were saving too, then I quit, closed WoW and came back in and they werent there...

I checked just incase, but that wouldnt make much sense if the rest of my keybindings save just fine and the rest of my DAB settings save just fine too... Good thought though...

I had did a consloe relod and logged the character out before. After you asked, I closed it and restarted it and they were still there. I did not have Character Specific keybindings in the ESC Keybindings, and did not use Auto configure in DAB. Now if I just wasnt at work to configure the rest of it...
