nUI GUI

Ok, I hope I haven't stepped on toes here. I have modified nUI GUI plugin to add in support for the /showhits and Feedbacks. I want to say up front that without nUI, or the GUI addon, there's no way in hell I could have done this. It was very much a learning experience for me, and 3 hours or so of coding (for what in reality would be a 5 to 10 minute job if I knew what I was doing!) it's my little contribution to nUI. And now that I know a bit about LUA, I'd be willing to help keep the GUI up to date with any new features that pop up in nUI =] I'm only attaching this file to this post so that way you guys can give your blessing to my update, or delete the post, it's up to you guys. I did it for myself as well as the community, and again, I hope I haven't made Kodewulf or Scott upset by this update of the GUI mod. If so, I won't make any further edits.

I cannot speak for Kodewulf, and won't, but I have no problem with it personally... I *want* people to develop cool stuff for nUI. That's how programs grow... creative thinking.

Just out of curiosity I haven't seen Kodewulf on the new forums at all is he continuing his work on the gui plug-in do you know? I only ask because theres quite a few commands that could be added i believe since the last update was 2/1 and nUI has grown quit a bit since then.

I know Kodewulf has been having computer and network issues among other things. He's around, but I'm not sure time is his own right now.

If you give me a list of things that are missing, I will work on it today or Friday. No promises as I'm not a miracle worker, but I'll give it a shot! In the mean time, I'll try to shoot Kodewulf a privmsg and see if I get a responce that way.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago for my wife and I. Here is the version I did. I went through and added every slash command I could find to the interface, which included the max auras setting along with those you mentioned.

Have a look. It would be cool to get an officially supported version of this as using he slash commands is a hassle with the smallish chat window in nUI.

BTW, I sent this to kodewulf after I finished testing it, but I don't think he has had the time to look at it.

Well, Kodewolf emailed me back, and said to email him mine and he'd post it. I added the feedbacks, showhits, and added bag scale today before sending it to him. I hadn't seen your changes until after I contacted him. I skimmed yours and hadn't seen anything I missed, but if you can think of any others, I can add and send to kode. Also, I'm thinking of checking out the PTR version of nUI and maybe seeing if there's new features? I'm not sure how the ptr works, so figured I'd see before bothering.....

Nope... no new slash commands in the PTR yet... though there likely will be soon.

Ok, if you could, just toss me a heads up if/when you do.

Also, the new dev version, I looked at the patch notes, it's just the same as the last version with the exception of compliance stuff? Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.....

That is correct, the latest Release and Dev distributions are strictly about bringing nUI into compliance with Blizzard's new BS guidelines

I figured they were just maintenance and compliance updates, but figured I'd ask.....

On a side note, how does the PTR work? When I played Dark Age of Camelot (AKA DAOC), "Pendragon" (the test realm) was the same client, just a difference exe/dll set. But I've heard people say "download" the ptr. Is it a completely seperate client? If so, how big? Cause if your thinking about adding additional features before 3.1 goes live, maybe I should download now JIC =]

WoW does create a separate install path for the PTR, but the downloads aren't all that bad once you get caught up to the current patch. Once installed, there's a "Public Test" button on your launcher you click to run a separate client to access the PTR which will have their current development code on it and its own client (as well as its own AddOns directory)
