Quartz compatibility

I thought there was quartz compatibility natively installed, but apparently not. I've used the plugin that's in "alpha", to remove cast bars completely, to get rid of it for now. Perhaps a default compatibility to not show cast bars if Quartz is installed?

Why would you assume that nUI supports Quartz? nUI has built in casting bars. The only mods that nUI integrates with are the ones it is not intended to provide internally.

I realize nUI's casting bars could use some improvement, but, still... there is very little about nUI that I do not bow to the users on, but the one place I will not ever budge is building in the ability to disable the features of nUI so you can use other mods in their place.

Quartz gives me Eclipse management, something nUI doesn't do, which is why I'm currently using it. There are other mods that do this, but Quartz attaches it directly to my cast bar which is why I decided to go that route.

What does that feature do?

Eclipse is the main DPS component for Moonkin. It only procs 60% of the time on a wrath crit, or 100% of a time on a starfire crit, and depending on which one procs, it gives a bonus to the opposite spell. (It is preferable to always proc the wrath one, boosting your Starfires). It's a 15second buff, but has a 30 second cooldown.

Moonkin need to know when the cooldown is coming back up so they can switch from Starfires back to Wrath to re-proc it. There's no way to do this internally. Squawk and Awe does it, and I had been using that, but now there's a Quartz module to do the same, and I'm a bit more partial to it now.

Okay -- so if I understand you correctly, what happens is that when this buff procs on you, the module starts a 30 second timer to let you know when it will be ready to proc again?

Correct. There is two spell IDs that can proc (Dependent on which eclipse you proc'd, lunar (which buffs starfire), or solar (which buffs wrath)).

Spell ids:
Solar eclipse: 48517
Lunar eclipse: 48518

In an ideal world, an eclipse icon would pop up somewhere on my screen with a timer for it's duration (perhaps on the same 'bar' that shows your debuffs on the friendly target, such as moonfire, insect swarm, etc), and another bar would immediately begin a 30 second count down. It'd be handy if this was 'docked' to the cast bar. (Maybe have the bar appear immediately above it? I don't think anything is docked there, I know GCD is docked below)

I'll give this some thought and try to come up with the best way to implement it. I'd like to do it in a way that's a little more generic so it could apply to more than just those two spells.

I'm hard pressed to think of any other class that has a passive ability that activates in such a way with an internalized cooldown, but you may be more creative than I.

It's not so much that as having a generic engine that can alert players when special abilities proc.

The Hunter talent "Lock and Load" has a similar mechanic.. it procs extra exsplosive/arcane shots and has a 30 sec internal cooldown
