Radically new idea..i think

I think I have a great I idea for a new way to use the map and minimap together. Right now, I have the mini map docked to the carbonite map and offset so that it is directly in the middle of the carbonite map, thereby making it look like a magnification of the area directly around me.

I think it would be better yet to have the carbonite map be like the zone map (the thing you pull up with shift-m) and the mini map be docked to the arrow that represents you on the carbonite map. I made a rough simulation of what it would look like in the attached images.

In simpler terms have the mouse work sort of like a magnifying glass on the larger map when you mouse over it?

no. the minimap would go where ever your character went, not where your mouse is on the map

This is what I have settled on for using carbonite, A large square that shows all the details and quest info, and then a small round radar that shows the tracking dots. The round minimap also turns as the character turns. The mod I used to modify the minimap is called Chinchilla Minimap.
