Need help with new Addons

I've always installed my addons manually. But now it seems that the zips contain the files but not folders anymore.

So to install new addons from a zip, am I supposted to extract to a folder with the addons name then put that in my Wow Addons folder?

or am I just to extract the zip contents directly to my Wow Addons folder?

I'm having trouble installing Bartender4, Titan Panel, Omen, and Recount. The only Addons that works are Auctioneer and Zoom. Both of these have the folders.

I've looked into WowMatrix but they don't have Bartender4, Titan Panel, Omen, and Recount.

I'm running an XP system

You want to extract so that folders are kept.

EG. Extract into a temprary folder with the same name as the zip file itself.

Bartender 3.2.199 as an example

Inside that folder should be another called Bartender and perhaps some others. If you look inside Bartender you should see a file called Bartender.toc. This means the folder called Bartender and the ones in the same folder as it need to be copied into your addons folder.

I'm not sure which extraction utility you are using for your .zip files, but I always select "Extract to Here" - this ensures that the folder hierarchy is kept, as Xrystal mentioned above.

The problem was that my J-Zip wasn't showing the folders. It was showing me what was in the folders but not the folders themselvs and extracted the same way.

I just changes the style of view and there they were!. All work now. Only AVBars are out of date. Know of a replacement?

I don't see AVBars on either this site or Curse. Mind giving a link to it, or a description of what it does?

Also, is it broken, or does it just say "out of date"? You could check the box to "load out of date addons" to see.

It's just out of date not broken.. yet.

What it does is gives timers on Flags/Tower in AV and AB.
So I know how much longer I have to stand here waiting to Cap a Flag/Tower.

Deadly Boss Mods includes this feature aswell, and many other handy utilities for instances, raids and PvP.

I've also found DBM to be one of the best and most quickly updated mods atm.

There is also Capping and SSPVP3. But, in the end, you could just enabled "Load out of date addons" if you don't find a replacement.
