Ah... I'm sorry Kiwii -- nUI is currently compatible with Carbonite, but does not attempt to integrate it, so there's no direct way to do what you're asking for. I had misunderstood the original question which was why I suggested the nUI_InfoPanel_Minimap mod -- however, all that does is move nUI's minimpa into the information panel, not the Carbonite map.

Perhaps that's something Kodewulf can produce a quick info panel mod for? Otherwise, I'll get to it when I get a chance.

How do i move my carbonite map info the left side info panel where you have the map/omen/recount/stuff.
I download and installed the nUI -- Minimap Infopanel mod hoping i could use it to put it there but no luck. I use my mini map with in my carbonite map, and this would be very nice to have it in that spot with the other stuff too.

Thanks for the feedback Fludder.

fwiw (for what it's worth) the issue with alt-tabbing out is a known Bliz bug as well which occurs as a result of switching between full-screen and windowed modes. Alt-tabbing during the UI load is equivalent to that. You can read about the detail of that bug in the known Bliz compatibility issues in my patch notes.

With regard to adding the ability to turn the rune bar on/off in the HUD and move it, that's not going to happen until that happens with all of the GUI config and optioning things. Just as there's no option to turn a rogue's combo-points on and off and there's no options for moving anything around the HUD yet (keeping in mind there's actually 4 different HUDs which makes optioning "the HUD" a bit problematic)

I'm not at all clear what you're talking about with regard to the "rune bubbles" -- on the one hand you say you've come to rely on them in the HUD and on the other hand you seem to be saying they're more of a distraction and hinderance than a help. So I'm confused. Can you clarify?

As requested for comment: Other than the right-click focus known issue I have not experienced any major unexpected bugs.

I even have scale UI on and set to lowest without incident.

I did observe that if I alt-tab away from WoW before the UI finishes loading (during the queue or the animated load screen) the frames do not appear correctly and I get nice opaque "blocks" around the elements (2 big black blocks where HUD should be). This is fixed with a simple /rl and I imagine its not so much a nUI issue as it probably has more to do with my setup and atl-tabbing away during start up.

Still lovin the nUI

~Request for when you have time:
Between the added code for the runes and Kodewulf's rune mod I am pretty set for my prefrences
...but... (don't ya hate the but) in future releases do you think it could be possible to make the runes part of the hud config so we can turn on/off and relocate (up or down).
I've come to rely more on the HUD rune power bar and the "lighting up" of the runic abilities more so that watching my rune bubbles flash and change color (blood's red to death's purple etc...) so the rune "bubbles" are more of a hindrance than a help at this point, a visual distraction drawing my attention to the flash and away from the HUD and the Action.

Thanks Spiel

In the Hud the runic "power bar" beside the health bar fills as rune-based attacks transpire.

At the same time two additional things seem to occur:
#1 The "bubble" for that particular rune flashes
#2 When enough runic power is built to use an ability (like deathgrip) the icon for that ability changes from colored-out to normal or available.

With the rune count in the hud bar, and the ability lighting up similar to in-and-out of range or a potion timer the "bubbles" for me are redundant. Hence the desire to turn them off completely.

I guess I shouldn't post to a thread using my BlackBerry while driving to work as rereading my post confused me as well.

Okie Thanks you , Ill just keep it where i have it then. I had tried to overlay the map in the center box but that does not work well cuz when I focus it sticks target there which i like so had move it else were.

Gee I look for ward to the day that between you and carbonite I will no longer need most other mods look like it almost there.

Also did not see about the autobar thing from you how do I integrate an autobar in to one of the layout action bar spots? or is that built in and im am missing it some how? I realy just want it for adding and takeing out quest items as need, and don't want to have extra action bar mods installed just to do so.

Ah... okay... for a Death Knight the runic power (in the bar next to the health bar) and the runes (in the rune bar at the bottom of the HUD and obvoe the health bar in the unit frames) are *NOT* the same thing. Regardless of your runic power, if you have spent both of your blood runes, you cannot use your blood talents until they cool down... that's what the flash is. That rune bar, btw, is an exact model of the one that's built into WoW now... it's just moved into the HUD where you can see it without looking into the upper left corner.

Rune are to a DK much like what combo points are to a rogue who must monitor both how much energy he has as well as how many combo points he has accumulated... thus you need both bars. With a DK, you have the same situation... you need to know how much runic power you have AND how many runes you have available in that talent class. Thus, both the runic power bar and the rune bar existing side-by-side in the HUD.

Kiwii -- nUI does not, at this time, have autobar type functionality. So really your only option would be to install it as well and fund a location you like for the quest item bar. I can tell you that I have no intention of integrating AutoBar into nUI in much the same way I don't integrate HUDs and other bar mods. At some point in the future, I do want to include the functionality in the bars that already exist in nUI. That will not be in the near future though.

Well... if it matters any, I use the action bar at the bottom right for any quest items I need to use. I just drag them into the bar when I get them and I don't bother removing them... I just drag the next one over them when the time comes. It's not a perfect solution, but it works and the bar is close to the bags.

One more question *flutter*

Gotcha, I wasnt thinking of the cooldown on each rune type

The only other thing I've seen askew in nUI (since the pre-wrath beta emailed out to me and up to the most recent update) is a slight visual bug when grouping.

Whenever I group, the top lefthand side of my UI shows the growing rounded semi-transparent background for the party frames in the base Blizzard UI.

There are no party frames visible (portrait etc...) only the background "mat" they normally rest on.

I can right-click and set the opacity to zero and it goes away.

I apologize if this does not make sense enough to follow, or if its one of the points in your to-do list and I'm just not seeing it reading release / patch notes. I can yank a screenshot and a list of active add-ons tonight when Im off work if that would help.

I love nUI!!! Thank you for your hard work.

Fludder -- go to the Bliz interface options and select Party/Raid and turn off the option for the party background. That's why you're seeing that.

minor adjustments

can i replace the combat log window with a window of my choice. and put the combat log in a tab on the other side, make some cosmetic adjustments and have it stay put after reload.

i like it, the thing that i will love about a single supported ui is when patch day arrives im not down for a week along with the aggravation. but wat happens when u go under a bus, oh well.

Short of hacking the code, this is not possible at this time. While nUI is designed to support custom skins and layouts, it is not yet fully implemented. You can tweak the code to get what you want, but that will mean you're toast when the next update comes along. If you can be patient for a bit, these things will be possible in due time.

What happens then is I make a stain on the road... probably two... one when I see the bus and one when the bus sees me. Aside from that, I am not the only programmer in the world. I'm sure someone would pick up the code wherever I leave off.

So... here I am all happy that after 14 months of unemployment I have a good job and doing something I'm really digging and today I get word that unless we get new work, I'll no longer be needed after April or May.

Guess it's time to polish up the resume again... sure hope it doesn't take 14 months this time.

Sorry to hear that.

I had been unemployed for about 10 months until September. Not getting a regular paycheck sucks.

I'll be praying that work will continue to come in for you.

Thank you Shammah -- at least I have warning and time to do something about it. That's a good thing and I owe my supervisor for the honest heads up on that. He's a standup guy.
