Version pretty old is getting old

I get a message ingame (WOW) that says my version of Carbonite is 'pretty old' so I go to the site and low and behold I've got the latest version. This is a theme with this addon.....why???? Plus, in bgs my maps are not reliable, as in many of the bgs the map doesn't exist for that bg, but I get a map of say, stormwind. What's up with that?
