continue to beat my head against the wall trying to learn this stupid coding so I can port *my* UI over from EQ to WoW, or do I just give it up?

Well its a big undertaking for your first go in lua but I wouldn't let that discourage you. If you have done other programming before then you should be able to apply that knowledge to help you with the structure of the mod. Remember, each thing can be coded as a module, take the problems as they come bit by bit and don't ever think "oh this is so much work, ill never manage it", because you will manage it as long as you take everything in small bits.

same here -- although honestly I might wait until 1.8 if I were you. Some of what you want to do appears to border on complete conversion, which 1.8 will make better use of.

That and it looks like they will be introducing viewport functions in the near future

good luck, wish i had skills to help ... that is a great looking skin.... made me a bit nostalgic for everquest for about 10 seconds....
nothing like three boxing a 65 chanter mage and cleric.... except 2 people 3 boxing a group rofl... now that was fun.. its a shame. i don't see the same kind of players that do that in wow 8( everyone was like wtf would you have two chars and play them at the same time..
