Actionbar Button

In the last couple updates I have still had the problem that some spells show up as available when they are not supposed to. Particularly, Exorcism with my pally shows up as available during any fight (even against non-undead).

Yeah, I think I mentioned that a while back. Did another test today and yes it's still FishingBuddy that puts the downarrow icon there.

Hi again,

playing with nUI for a while now i really get used to it and i am glad to.

But (yeah there's always that damn but) as everyone has a different taste i would like to make some suggestions that you might build in as optional(s?).

The first thing that irritated me is the fact that I see the "simple hud" (the two bars under my feet) when i am using the player/target hud. I would prefer to disable that bar under my feet with the exception to keep the Rune's (or any other thing that is class depended). I don't think i need the bar'S under my feet because i have the Hud to the left and the right. (Hope you got what i mean i dont know how to explain it in a better way).

The second thing is the group. i didnt played in a group more than 2 + me for a while so i saw it today the first time. I would love to have my group in a (one!) row, than 2 to the left of me and two to the right. I am no healer but i think specially for them it would be more comfortable to have all of them in one row. At last i would prefer an option to handle it that way.

It would be great if you find a way to make that possible, maybe more users feel/see it that way, but i understand that it has no priority.

Well All I know is that it did not show up with Buggrabber installed and then it did and bug grabber was acting up. '

Ill get a list of my mods and post em for ya if we compare shared mods will be able to get it figured out

hey scott dont know if anyones mentioned it but seems drdamge and nui are incompatiable because nui wil not let drdmg show its avg # on the action bar just figured id let ya know doesnt really matter to me cause i can see them in the tooltips

Once you pick up an action to drag to the action bars, the grid will automatically display. As soon as you drop the action, it will hide again. There is not, at this time anyway, an option to have the grid on all the time. I could look into supporting that, though I'm loath to add another slash command for it. Is it really an important feature? I can't see why, but that's just me.

Seer -- do me a favor please... enable the FishingBuddy mod (that's the one causing the issue right?), log into WoW and log right back out, then e-mail the WTF\Account\{your account}\SavedVariables\nUI.lua file to me at [email protected] -- that way I can see exactly what buttons nUI is moving in the button bag and then I can do something about this problem child button.

I'm curious, too... if nUI is completely disabled and you log in with FishingBuddy enabled, does that button appear on the Minimap and if it does, what does it do?

Tegarbah -- best as I can tell, I'm doing the availability of spells exactly as Bliz does now... I actually gave up functionality to do that because of the spells that were being flagged as unavailable when the were available (which seems to be fixed now as a result). I can't imagine how I would be flagging somethign as available that isn't. If you disable nUI and enter combat, does it flag as disabled in the default Bliz UI?

Nope, only when nUi or tidyminimap is loaded.. (as far as I have tried with similar mods..

That bar you are seeing is *not* the simple HUD. It is the health race bar. You can read about it in the ABOUT.TXT file that came with nUI or on the nUI description page at http://www.wowinterface.com/download...p?id=9108#info -- if after you've read about it and you understand what that bar is telling you, you still want to be rid of it, you can use the slash command '/nui hud healthrace' to toggle it off. The complete list of supported slash commands is also described in the ABOUT.TXT and on the page I linked above.

Nope... not happening... for a host of reasons. It's more complicated than just moving the group member unit frames onto a single row. For one, their unit frames would all have to be made smaller to fit across in one row. Second, it would reduce the space available to display their pets and targets. Third, it would interfere with the location of the focus frame and minimap. I could go on. Generally, however, it's not a trivial change and I think I know my users well enough by now to know that there would be a lot of them screaming bloody murder at me if I made that change ~smile~

That said, nUI does support custom layouts and that's a feature that will be coming soon. Once that happens, people will be free to arrange all of the UI elements in whatever way makes them happy. You could do it yourself or perhaps someone else would do it for you then.

Kiwii -- I see you and Seer both have FishingBuddy installed. If you disable FishingBuddy, does that problem go away?

fwiw -- I've added support for Dr. Damage to the next nUI update. I've also contacted the author via Curse.com and asked him to add nUI to his supported action bars which requires him to add a function call to his mod in order to become aware of nUI's action bars. I don't know if or when he will, but the patch notes for the next release explain how you can do it yourself until he does.

Coords frame oddities

Just a few odd things :

I use Cartographer3, and yes, I know it has a bug or two. However, I did notice that whenever I call it up, the nUI coords "freeze"; as soon as I shut down C3 they are back showing as per normal.

I'm also doing some quests from Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight which let me control a big dragon. Whenever I'm riding it (excuse my French svp!) the coords frame gets replaced by the dragon's frame and I have to call up C3 to see coords.

Yesterday I did a quest "Steamtank Surprise" (great fun!) which gives you a vehicle bar with 4 abilities: 1-shoot (worked fine), 2-net (worked fine), 3-drop off an engineer (wouldn't work), 4-drop off troops (didn't get that far).

I was going to try it again today with nUI turned off, tried it with nUI on anyway, and it all worked fine. Either nUI is showing me who's boss, or my computer is lol!

Framerate

Before nUI my fps was mostly 60, with the odd drop to 56 or so and occasionally down to the high 40's.

When I did start to use nUI my framerate went through the roof, with a fps of over 100 not uncommon.

Right now it's anywhere from under 10 to above 40, fluctuating heavily. I know that when there's a lot of players in the same area as me that the fps will drop, but it also happens early in the (Australian) morning when there's only a few people around.

I'm not saying it's nUI-related as I understand that there are a number of factors involved but just wanted to let people know in case they experienced the same thing. I guess I should shut down addons to hopefully narrow down the cause but I'm delaying that for as long as I can bear to put up with this problem

Those are WoW bugs afaik, were there even during the beta... It does (or should) work depening on the scourge wagon and how you are positioned towards it.. If one doesn't work go to the next...

Wheres the update? common i know theres one coming! lol

Thought i'd drop in another note about the vehicles (i've experienced the abilities failing before, but figured that was blizz).
Would it be possible to get the buffs/debuffs that are on the vehicle displayed somewhere? it's good for things like shields or similar aspects where knowing what charges we have is important.

And also, I've noticed that the world frame goes really strange when i mount a vehicle. It seems as if the entire frame shifts downwards. This downwards movement seems too much to just be the part that you've 'removed' behind the panel coming back... Not too sure what this behaviour would be, but it's annoying :P

Exclamation nUI Beta v4.06.00 has just been released...

This weekend's update is lighter than usual because, well, I've been playing for a change ~lol~ Trying to replace my daughter's hunter and have driven him from baby to 49 so far plus trying to level my lock.

Anyway... primarily bug fixes in this update, plus addition of support for Dr.Damage -- see the patch notes for how to enable support for nUI in Dr. Damage until its author gets it done.

* Enabling the "Use UI Scale" option in the Bliz video configuration menu blows up
nUI's layout and scaling. For now... just uncheck this option until I can fix it.

Known compatibility issues with third party mods...

* Guild Event Manager is moving its minimap button back to the minimap out of the button
bag whenever the player clicks on it. A minute or so later, nUI's button bag logic

* nUI's action bars are not compatible with DrDamage

* CowTip and nUI are not playing well together regarding tooltip placement

* Carbonite is having issues updating the directional arrow when the minimap and/or
battlefield minimap is hidden in the info panel

* Poison Pouch mod minimap button is missed by button bag

* Alpha Map minimap button is not scaling correctly in button bag

* nUI and Capping are not playing well... Capping's modification of the battlefield
minimap is interfering with nUI's info panel management of the map

* Titan Panel is causing an error when the bottom bar is enabled

* Titan panel mouseover tooltips are not compatible with nUI's fixed position
tooltip option

Known Bliz / nUI compatibility issues...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Right clicking a unit frame and selecting "set focus" taints in combat == this is
a known bug since WoW 3.0.2 and is beyond nUI's control. Hopefully Bliz will address
it in the next patch (or two or three or twenty). You can target the desired focus
and then type '/focus' to aquire a focus frame until Bliz resolves this issue.

* Switching between windowed and non-windowed mode breaks nUI's textures and HUD -- this
is caused by a known Bliz bug in their video driver code and applies only to certain
graphics cards and video drivers. It is nearly random in terms of which mods it will
impact... anything from very complex to completely trivial mods are broken by this
bug but it is always mods that use custom textures. There is no fix. The only
workaround is to (a) avoid switching between windowed and non-windowed modes as much
as possible and use '/nui rl' to reload the user interface when it gets broken. It is
worth noting this bug affects Macs most often, but also impacts some PCs (such as
mine). This bug has been a round a very long time and no telling if or when it will
ever be fixed.

* If your mouse buttons 4 and 5 do not work for click-casting on unit frames, make
sure your mouse driver is sending mouse button clicks and not key presses. You can
do this by going to the key binding interface and trying to bind autorun to mouse
button 4. If the key binding does not say "Button 4" or "Mouse Button 4" then the
issue is your mouse driver or driver settings. Bliz does not support key-presses
as mouse clicks directly and mods like Clique cannot detect key presses in that way.

* Added integration with Dr. Damage to nUI's action bars. I have contacted the author
of Dr. Damage, as well, and asked that (s)he add support for nUI. Until that change
gets made in Dr. Damage, you can do it yourself to enable nUI's integration.

Edit the file Interface\AddOns\DrDamage\DrDamage.lua and search for the line

if IsAddOnLoaded("Bartender4") then

When you find that line it should be located in the method DrD_DetermineAB... if so,
insert the following code immediately before before the Bartender4 if statement

ABrefresh["nUI"] = nUI_DrDamageIntegration( ABtable );
ABdefault = false;
end

After you've made that change, the file should look something like this...

Save the modified file, reload WoW and Dr. Damage should now work with nUI

* Fixed a compatibility bug with FishingBuddy where FishingBuddy was placing a pull
down menu in the nUI minimap button bag that threw an error

* Fixed a major bug in the shapeshift bar that was causing taint in combat as well as
FPS leaks in raids and key binding issues for rogues and warriors in particular, but
all players in general

* Modified unit frame and HUD health bars to shade gray when the underlying mob has
been tagged by another player (same as the gray nameplate label but more obvious)

* Fixed an update bug in the target of target logic that caused the associated health
bars in the HUD and unit frames to not update

hey scott was playing today and i switched over to the thin gloss black skin. wierd thing keeps happening with combat log every time it updates the lines grow above where the frame normally is i then fixed the position and size locked the log and engaged a new enemy and bam same thing even with it locked it shifts upwards just wanted to let you know and believe me im not complaining just tryin to give you feed back i solved it simply enough by not using that skin (the dragom skin kicks ass anyways)
