avast! 4 + Online Armor and WoW?

Hey, I recently downloaded avast! 4 Home Edition and that free Online Armor because F-Secure stopped working for me (and I didn't even like it at all).

So, I was just playing WoW and my latency was somewhere around 1000-2000 when it's normally like 100-170, and the game lagged like hell (as you might guess). First I was thinking that it had something to do with the realm (Stormreaver EU: lots of players: little lagg for me because of bad computer) so I tried other realms too.
I tried couple realms and then I realized that the realms didn't affect the latency.

It worked very well couple hours ago when I didn't have avast! 4 or Online Armor installed, so I thought that they might be the problem... (And I have had avast! 4 Home Edition before with Zonealarm and that wasn't affecting WoW at all.)
I then tried to allow everything what had connect to WoW from Online Armors firewall, but it didn't help at all... So, what would be the problem? If its Online Armor, please suggest me good firewall that dont affect WoW or any other programs either. I've heard that Zonealarm (free edition) isn't good at all; it slows net and won't work well as firewall.

PS. Sorry for spelling mistakes and thanks in advance!!

I use Zone Alarm (the free one) just fine here.

Here's how I play:

Microsoft Firewall
Avast! Free Home Edition 4.7
Advanced Windows Care V2 Personal
CCleaner
AusLogic Registry Fix
AusLogic Disk Defrag

It is all free-ware, spyware free, and reputable (check cnet.com).

Roughly 2-3 times a week I run in this order:

Windows Care full scan + fix; CCleaner full scan + registry scan; Disk Defrag (20 minutes usually); Registry Fix (requires restart). This usually increases my computers responsiveness pretty quickly and effectively every time, and I have a very recent computer.

I leave Avast! On-Access scanners running while not playing a game, and I always leave MS Firewall on. When I play any game, I left-click the Avast! icon (I have both VRDB & On Access icons combined) and click the 'Pause' button.

Outside of these things, make sure you don't have un-necessary services running, and that your msconfig (Start -> Run -> 'msconfig') doesn't have a million things loading on start-up. You can fix these things simply via CCleaner.

I hope something I said helps!

How long does that Zonealarm Pro work if I buy it? And is Pro/Security Suite same thing?

Go with the suite, won't mess with WoW, if any updates are needed might have to let ZA know its ok for it to go thru. Also, the suite as everything in it. Just use windows defender as a backup and you should be fine. Zone Alarm Suite is the best one I have tried so far, Trend Mirco lagged me, Norton=Mem hog, as are most of the others. Hope this helps some. Happy New Year

Currently I use Avast Anitvirus (only the Antivirus no other Avast programs are installed), Comodo Firewall Pro, CCleaner, Adware in addition to Firefox (with NoScript installed and enabled). Things are just fine here other than normal server lag and I have yet to see malware get past (of course it helps that if I go into the dark alleys of the Internet, I am very alert of what is going on around me and all my security is cranked to max.

I use Avast! 4.7 Home and COMODO Firewall Pro.

Both free. COMODO doesn't use up a lot of memory, and I don't lag in BGs even with only 512mb RAM.

If you are willing to pay for something, ESET NOD32 and Kaspersky are the 2 best suites available. They both use the least amount of memory and catch the most bugs. Both have 2 packages to choose from. One with the spyware/antivirus and another with package 1 AND firewall added. (And maybe some other stuff, like parental controls.)

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Oh, and I do use Firefox with NoScript and AdBlockPlus.
