I have looked through this lengthy thread and could not find the answers...

1. Everytime I log in, I get a popup stating that the key bindings is not the original keybindings, do I want to change my keybindings back to default. I hit cancel. How do I make this popup go away?

2. Whenever I enter a vehicle, the vehicle bar extends over my chat window and also covers my target's window. How do I shrink or move this?

Thanks in advance

nUI does not create that message. I would almost bet you that some old mod of yours is complaining. I don't *think* it's WoW itself that does that (at least I've never seen it do that). My suggestion would be to try a clean nUI install. (see notes below)

2. Whenever I enter a vehicle, the vehicle bar extends over my chat window and also covers my target's window. How do I shrink or move this?
This one actually has been posted quite a few times, but that's okay... it would be easy to miss. For now, you can get rid of the built in Bliz vehicle frame when you mount a vehicle using the slash command '/script VehicleMenuBar:Hide()" -- you can make a macro of that as well and place the button at the left of your far bottom left action bar (so it isn't overlaid by the vehicle frame) and just click it when you want to the hide the frame -- the only caveat is you cannot do that while in combat.

To do a clean nUI install, do this...
1) Exit WoW and rename WTF to WTF.Saved and rename Interface to Interface.saved

2) Without installing any mods, log into WoW on any of your toons and set up your video and audio preferences as you like them then exit WoW again.

3) Install the latest release of nUI into your Interface\AddOns directory and log back into WoW... does everything work correctly? (It should -- if not, let me know)

4) Begin installing the third party mods you would like to use one at a time (such as Omen3, Recount (Preservation), DBM, etc.) and test after each install to make sure everything is still working correctly. If something breaks the UI, you'll know which mod it was and we can look into why it broke.

Wish I had the means to donate but as it stands I haven't had a job in 9 months (Thank you economy) and am barely making the car payments as it is. (Repairing computers here and there) However if something pops up that would allow me to I will donate some time in the future.

I have been there -- 14 straight months of unemployment, so I completely get it. Just rest assured that I am not abandoning anyone here. And I sincerely hope you find work soon... it's tough out there.

A question for all the web monkeys out there...

I'm going to be getting started on setting up www.nuiaddon.com as soon as I get the first 5.0 out to registered nUI users.

Marthisdil did a great job setting up Joomla as a prototype for the board and then that kinda came to a grinding halt, mostly due to me dragging my feet because I was so busy at the time.

That said though, I'm not sure that's the path I want to take with the site. I think I would like to manage pretty much all of it manually with the exception of the forums and photo album.

With that in mind, I'd like to hear suggestions for the best options for a full featured forum manager much like WoWI's forums that supports attachements to messages, etc, and one that you have really good control over the visual look and feel of. Features most important to me would be to have multiple topics, the ability to create sticky threads at the top of the topic and to lock threads. I would also like to be able to maintain public topics anyone can comment on as well as private topics for developers, admin, and nUI supports (member's only topic areas)

I'd also like to have a photo album of sorts where people can post screen-caps of their nUI layouts... which leads to a bigger problem and that is an automated way to support people posting plugins for nUI and customized layouts for nUI. I do want to continue to use sites like WoWI and Curse, but I would really like www.nuiaddon.com to be a single source one stop shop for nUI support, updates, layouts, plugins, etc.

I'm okay with using a suite that manages the entire site as long as I have full control over the look and feel, but I confess to being old school... I have been writing HTML by hand since the internet has been around and never used tools like Joomla... so I guess I need to get with the program ~lol~

Anyway... I would really appreciate some feedback on what options there are and the pros and cons of each.

Personally I like dragonfly CMS. You pretty much have full control over the entire CMS including the forums. The only real drawback that I'm aware of is that management of users is not very intuitive.

vBulletin is an exceptional piece of software, but unfortunately it's not free. It's very much worth the cash though, and I highly recommend it. I also highly recommend SMF as it's free, fairly easy to use (can do emergency security updates from within the forums admin panel), and they're right on top of security issues.

Being in the web hosting business for as long as I have, I would never, under any circumstances, recommend phpBB.

Well what about adding some more textures like Litestep and a few of the other popular ones into nUI instead if the whole shared media Lib. Would that work??

I find it funny to hear someone doing webhosting knocking PHP when I am doing the same and run PHP almost exclusively lol. Well to each his own.
RavenNuke is a full website suite to look at that will give you full control. It is heavily supported, loaded with features and security systems, and is easy to setup and run. Ive known the guy who makes it for years and he is one of the best. And you can get it for free.

I don't knock PHP, I knock phpBB. Big difference =) At any rate, I'll not get into the persistent security problems regarding phpBB as you can find that on your own via Google.

It's you -- try selecting the Map mode on the info panel and then press shift-M and see if it comes back.

Cool

SMF for your forums. It is a great package with everything you are looking for.
Combine that with TinyPortal and you have a fully featured CMS.

This is what I use for my guilds website and I am Very happy with it. I sent you a link to my site in an e-mail but I'm sure it's buried in your inbox.

Drop me a line if you have any questions or need a hand setting things up. I've been doing the webmonkey thing for a number of years.

I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone for the feedback. I'm going to research all of the suggestions and work out which I think will work best for what I (we) want to do with the web site.

For the record, today I'm finishing getting my main to 80 and getting his elders achievement... just need HoS and H Gundrak and he's done, as well as my Hunter.

Tomorrow I start on the 5.0 and I'll keep everyone posted on progress. It should go pretty quickly to get to the alpha, then we'll get started adding the missing pieces... 25 man raid, etc.

Thanks again to everyone.

Evening Spiel, or morning for you perhaps..

Found another mod that doesn't play nice with the buttonbag, http://www.onraid.com/

But instead of having a duplicate button like Fishingbuddy, or a pingponging one like GEM this one keeps sitting stubbornly at the minimap.

No hurry at fixing or even looking at it, for such a big button it took me a day or 2 for even noticing it.. just a FYI.

Seen that once, think it was right after the previous wow patch and/or after I cleared my wtf a bit (trying to keep a few settings and clearing out the garbage). Didn't look much like a Blizzard made pop up IIRC. But maybe a Mordru can supply a screenshot just in case ?

Gotcha Sil, musta been tired when i read that. Yeah i agree, if you dont run a security system alongside phpBB you are just asking for trouble. And god forbid its a pure unmodified version of phpBB or your not keeping it updated /shudder.

Did a quick scan of the first 30 or so pages, and the last 30, and didn't find anything on this. Is there any way to display numerical values on the player, party, pet, target, raid, etc. bars? If not is there any chance of getting support on implementing this or anything along those lines?

Maybe even put it in fraction form for the hud?
13892 ///// 1217
16743 ///// 16743
Something like that, with the color changing if possible, or if it's not too much more of a hassle. Toggleable for those who like and do not like it of course.

It's a fantastic UI, I like everything about it. Clean, informative, over all perfect for me, aside from the fact that I can only see percentages on my bars.

Edit: There's no support for focuses, this is probably a known thing, but I thought I'd refresh the fact that it's not there.

Edit 2: On further use of the mod I realised I was just blind, but a more configureable layout for these values would be nice.

I'm assuming you've discovered that nUI does support focus and that is does have the maximum, current and percentage health and power in the HUD and that they do change color? As for configuration, if you've scanned that last couple of pages, you should see references to nUI 5.0 in there.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
