Okay, so various and sundry managed to talk me back into using IRC again. (Damn addictions) And, I figured what the hell, in for a penny, in for a pound. WoWInterface.com now has an IRC channel up and running.

Channel: #WoWI-lounge

Rule #1: I don't care if you are from the Cosmos Team, the Ace Team, CTMod, Independant or 5 miles from the arse-end of nowhere. Get along with each other in the channel, or don't join it. Treat each other with respect, the same as is demanded here. See the "Holy Site Rules of WoWInterface" if you have any questions.

Rule #2: This is intended as a channel for the modding community to come kick back, relax, hang out, shoot the breeze, bull****, pick on each other (nicely, teasing, you know) in. It is not intended as a "help" channel. Help *may* be available, but don't count on it. That's what forums are for.

Other rules to be added as necessary.

But seriously, we're already really well established (in only a couple of days!) and have a ton of the Blizz UI forum regulars hanging out. Cide is a regular in the channel, Iriel too, as are members of the Cosmos & Ace teams. Shouyruu, Guillotine, lots of the names that folks are used to seeing in here. Heck, we've even had Slouken show up! It rocks!

Well, we've pretty much got all the regulars from the Blizz UI forum chillin' with us now. Just a couple die hard hold outs yet. Please come play. We've got reps from WoWGuru and Curse-Gaming hanging out in there now too. We have fun, everyone gets along, new ideas are kicked around and created, lots of code talk and debate on the best (most efficient) ways of doing things, etc. Folks learning stuff, challenging each other to improve their mods. Lots and lots of friendly abuse.

And yet another fantastic use of the channel ... debugging mods on test server!

One person finds a problem, everyone tackles it to find the solution and on to the next. Authors don't have to individually find all the various problems for themselves, since everyone is made aware of them that much quicker via the chanel. Less duplication of effort.

Mods should be updated and ready to go a lot quicker after the next patch because of it.

If you are a mod author, you really should consider joining the channel, it is proving to be an invaluable resource.

Don't make me start naming names of those yet to join us ...
