HOWTO: Beta FrameXML

Open up regedit(32) and find the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft

Change InstallPath to your WotLK beta folder, and run AddonKit.exe, then restore the original setting.

I just startet the addonkit.exe from the beta directory and it worked without changing anything.

Yeah, all you need to do is move it into that directory and run it from there. Also, wrong forum, so moving.

didnt work for me, it just extracted the live version into the live directory.

changed the registry value and ran it and it extracted the beta files fine.

running on vista 64bit though.

This did not work for me, too. I think there are different versions of addonkit.exe where one requires to be in the same folder and the other does not.

Mine says it is version 3.1.0.13 from the file properties.

Working fine here and version is now 3.1.0.305

Yes, I have version 3.1.0.305 as well. The latest version of the Addon Kit was updated to work with WotLK beta. It has a wrath icon as well.
