Try Carbonite. It really is a better option in my opinion. The developers of the addon have done an amazing job and keep it updated regularly.

QuestHelper does not, has never, and never will require a license. Perhaps if you gave us the full error message we could help you, but I suspect your problem has nothing to do with QuestHelper.
