Ok... I finally disabled my tooltip mod yday..
I'm now using purely nUI on mouse for tooltips and the following is what I've found... (using .10)

I still get the blinky loot thing on the roll window most of the time, however the loot window works fine..
Herbs anchor off to the left (im sure other types of nodes do too)...
atm Im on my DK and mousing over buffs is not working at all.. not sure why.

The fix you uploaded to this thread was included in .10, wasn't it Scott?

Yep, and no external tooltip addons

edit: also quest items/chests show off to the left as well

mine seem to be working fine since .10 haven't checked the buffs though if anything comes up ill let you know

Yeah sadly i thought this was all fixed too but have been having the same issues again with blink loot roll boxes and tooltips. And i dont use any tooltip mods.

As far as the loot roll boxes go there is one odd thing i have noticed. It almost apears to be an alpha issue. Meaning if there is something on the background such as a mob or boss, that results in the blinky issue. If i swing the camera veiw around so there is nothing behind the boxes the blinky issue goes away. Wierd huh?

Possible, but I don't think mine reacted the same.. Course, I could definitely be wrong.

i think the problem is that nUI keeps trying to add the extra info, even with defualt set, which i assume its not meant to do? cause as it says default sets it so that nUI doesn't manage the tooltips. i could be wrong.

No -- setting the tooltips to default does not stop nUI from adding information to them, it just stops nUI from trying to set the location of the tooltip.

I still have been entirely unable to get my head around the issue with tooltips on the loot window and inventory because nUI does *NOTHING* with those tooltips when in the default mode and only sets the location in owner/mouse/fixed modes. When in default mode, nUI only adds information to the end of the unit and action bar tooltips, and does nothing to control where the tooltip is displayed.

What is causing this issue is, so far, a complete mystery to me. More than that, if I set '/nui tooltips default' I cannot reproduce the problem in the current development version. There's some other variable involved here and I have no idea what it is.

I have just downloaded and installed Nui+ just yesterday and I have noticed with tool tips with no other mods installed I get:

Group Loot Windows did have issues with roll over so I had to loot the boss myself to see, but the normal full loot window works fine.

I used the movers to put my tooltips right next to the action bar on the left just above the minimap. I have noticed most things work fine there except for Unit tool tips...while riding through town my mouse will go over items and I see it bounce between the default start location for nUI, and the new location.

For the folks who are having this issue -- if you disable *ALL* mods except nUI, does the issue persist? I cannot for the life of me reproduce this problem, but I also use almost no mods except nUI, so I'm inclined to believe this is a conflict of some kind, but have no idea where to even start.

Just noticed something interesting. I've been trying to figure out what is causing this, and noticed that for me when the tooltip goes to the incorrect spot it has the info from nUI on it twice. So it has the first set of health mana range, and then all the same info again underneath.
Hope this helps. Will continue to try and find out if it is caused by another mod or not. I can say that it seems random for me as to when it happens, and it doesn't happen often.

Also, with just nui enabled i got an odd result where I targeted a unit and then went to hover over their details on the unit frames at the bottom. The tooltip then displayed all the details for that mob, but with the name of a dead character underneath the unit frame.

Figured out how the double stats thing is happening. It related to my second post, when the unit's whos frame ur hovering over is also underneath the cursor (behind the bar at the bottom)
Recreated it again easily on random person in org by quickly moving mosue from the unit to the unit frame in bar (hope this is kinda making sense )

with all disabled, the default option causes the error, setting it to fixed for me, fixes the snap issue, no idea why but thats what i've found so far. course to reproduce the error i also have healbot enabled.

this is what i did to reproduce the issue

1. set tooltips to default
2. target urself using the healbot interface
3. tooltips automattically snap to the top left.
4. set tooltips to fixed

problem solved.

thats what i found so far. hope this helps

so, no fix for default setting of the tooltips? just wondering cause i'd like to use cowtip again at some point.

Not yet. I'll see if I can't get a fix in this weekend's update. But I am completely and utterly miffed as to what the problem is. With the default setting, nUI simply does not interact with the tooltips with the exception of adding extra lines to the unit frame tooltips. That's it. So how it can be causing these issues is a complete mystery to me.

actually, a good question atm, is the issue only happening with those of us who have cowtip, or is it happening to TipTac users as well? that would narrow down the issue, seeing as for the most part, those 2 are the major tooltip addons everyone uses. i'm gonna test it out myself, but any input from someone who uses TipTac.


Edit: I tested TipTac, does the same thing on the defualt setting. and its only the default setting that does it... odd
