Request 4 Addon

Okay, there is an outdated addon called LayMacroTooltip that I found to be a one-of-a kind that somebody needs to reinvent.

LayMacroTooltip allowed players to create custom tooltips for any of their macros they wanted. Allowing players to give their own description of an ability / spell, give simple tooltips to macros such as /m (to bring up the macro menu), or even if somebody is creative enough, they could make a macro of /Cast Heroic Strike with a new name and its own customized tooltip (in other words, customized abilities/spells.)

This addon is great with other addons. Such as TipTac or AudioX II. However, the author of LayMacroTooltip seems to be lazy as hell and is not updating their addon. (it has not been updated in long ass time.)

My Request is for some one to make their own version of an Addon that is used the same way LayMacroTooltip is.

Insulting the addon author by calling them lazy is probably not the best way to convince anyone to help you. Nobody makes a living writing or maintaining a WoW addon, and for most people, things like jobs, housing, family, friends, other hobbies, and even just playing the game are a higher priority. If you can't accept that someone might have more important things to do than maintain a WoW addon forever, you should probably either learn how to write your own addons, or stop using addons altogether.

Posting repeated comments in large, bold, underlined, red text on the addon page with statements like "you MUST update" is probably also a poor tactic for encouraging anyone to get involved.

If it weren't for this, I'm fairly positive somebody would have helped you by now, or pointed you in the proper direction. Authors do not NEED to update their addons, as you seem to believe. Most authors make addons for themselves, and are just nice enough to share with the community. At the very least, I'd suggest getting rid of your sense of entitlement, apologizing to Layrajha, and then asking again, nicely.

Don't worry, you never had to draw in the breath to begin with. Like Phanx and MC has said, Authors do NOT have to update or even upload their addons. They are not paid to create the addons (since it's not allowed besides donations), they can pretty much just say 'screw it' and toss an addon away.

Someone might have tried to help you if you weren't a pompous high strung jerk ;D This is a site where Addon Authors get together, and calling one of us out in such a way is a good way to never get what you want

When people make requests or are looking for addons, some of us go out and look for them for you. Spending some time searching nooks and carnies of the internet to help you. Some of us go out and CREATE addons just because the idea might sound cool, or do a fan update.
