<DBM> People In Raid NOT Using dbm: Jondoe, Player2, Name, Anothername <DBM>

Would somenoe make an addon that shows the user who in raid is NOT using dbm, with the ability to output this list to the raid?
I think it'd improve the quality of LFR's over night.

Thanks...

Yeah, i knew about "/dbm ver"

it shows how many DO have it.. and who's needs updating.

More in specific looking for ones that do NOT have it, so that they can be informed in case they simply never knew about it.

You want an addon to advertise DMB to those not using a boss mod? Id have a huge fit if someone began advertising an addon to me while I'm in game.

If this addon is made, someone will come behind the author and create another to make it appear like you're using DBM.

No, I don't think this is a good idea at all.

I know about DBM and don't use it. If your addon tried to shame me in chat or make me out to be ignorant, that's a big black mark in my book for you.

I haven't even used BigWigs in a while. If you are paying attention, watching the fight and watching Blizzard's cues and announcements in the UI, you shouldn't need it. Other peoples' addons output some info into chat or raid warning even. These addons merely present information in a different manner, sometimes with obvious timers so that you don't have to keep track of them on your own.

Now, if it appears that someone is struggling with fights, then it would be acceptable to ask them if they have any addon to help them out with it.

Let me tell you a story about the quality of LFR groups. About a year and a half ago when I was starting to learn German, I switched WoW into German and played on a German server. This was towards the end of MoP, and my first LFR was one of the earlier MoP raids. I'd never done this particular raid before on any character, knew nothing about the fight, was not using any boss mod, and could only understand about 30% of the text in-game, and even less of what people were typing in chat.

After about 5 minutes of attacking a particular boss, and the boss healing himself to full repeatedly, I noticed that every time he healed, he gained a magic buff. I was playing a warlock. The next buff came, none of the many players in the raid with magic-dispelling abilities dispelled it, and the boss healed to full again. The next time, I pulled out an imp and used it to dispel the buff. The boss died shortly thereafter.

I really don't think this situation would have been improved by having more DBM users in the group. Having DBM flash the screen and throw up a message with "Super Mega Healing Buff appears!" isn't going to help if the player doesn't already know that (a) the buff is dispellable, (b) their class can dispel it, and (c) they should dispel it as quickly as possible. And if they already know those things -- or are able to figure it out on the fly -- then they don't need DBM flashing the screen and throwing up extra messages.

Sounds like if they're not the only ones "attacking you" then it's very likely a bad idea.

My comment wasn't intended to attack you.... apologies if it appeared that way. I just very strongly do not like the idea.
