Welp, trying out some new ideas for UFs.

1st: Shadow'ed UFs, non-shadow Bars (the shadow changes color if you have aggro or not)
2nd: Shadow'ed UFs Bars
3rd: Non-Shadowed UFs and Bars

Any thoughts? (and yes I realize I should of filled out those last two spots :< They do fit exactly the same width, jus sayin')

EDIT: bad idea to make the highlight green when I'm in greenish water z.z

Have you thought about limiting the number of fonts you are using? I think I can see at least four different ones in that first screenshot. It makes it seem a bit cluttered, or that you just threw up an addon and didn't take the time to fully customize it to it fits in with your overall UI.

Oh also, don't forget a tooltip addon to make them as shiny as the rest of it .

@ Lily: 1st shot.

@ Lily: 1st shot.

Yeah...I had it all set to one font but upon reinstalling Reflux I had to redo the entire UI in the few minutes I had to play this morning, thanks for the heads up Also, I use Leatrix Tooltip for a tooltip addon :3

Something I've been working on. Inspired by an old Tapestry UI.

Raid frames are so cluttered for 25 man x.x I don't do them like ever.

(Keybinds because I just changed a bunch of them)

And then just a clean shot

Still quite a few aesthetic things. But I like it so far (:

Tried this, too. Came out quite well, but the tricky thing about WoW and all those nice interfaces from other games are the differences when it comes to UI elements. WoW has/needs quite a few annoying elements (buff/debuff tracking for various units, especially) that ruin everything.

This exactly.

Even a game like Dragon Age: Origins where you can easily have 20 skills or more to use. In the expansion at max level of 34 or so the number of skills/spells learned is just staggering, and there is certainly not enough room on a single action bar if you are a mage. There are also a few buffs and debuffs you can see on yourself and party members, but unfortunately none of those are visible on targets as direct icons (you must rely on visual effects.) DAO is the only game I can think of that even comes close to WoW in terms of skill buttons, but even then the UI looks neater because you are restricted to a single action bar.

Also, compared to the UI graphics of GW1, I don't care for it. They made too much of an effort to go all modern and minimal with the lines and such. However, you could just chalk that up to my not liking change. On the other hand, I didn't mind how they modernized the UI in Dragon Age 2.

I'm not surprised that the GW2 UI would be popular on these forums however, gives the types of screenshots we see here ;D.

I actually think that all modern games should have the UI config present in GW1. You went into config mode and could move and resize every single UI element. It gets saved on the game server forever. Even if you stop playing GW for a while, uninstall it, and then go back, your UI is still waiting there for you. It was fantastic. ALL games should have this.

Blizzard is very scared of options. Optionophobia is kind of what it is When they finally released the ability to move Target and Focus frames around, people asked "Why not more?", to which blues responded "We don't want to give our users options which give them the potential of screwing something up. If someone moved a UI element and it goes off screen, they'll become frustrated and not know what to do". Oh well, such as it is.

Hehe, tell me about it Or even an "Advanced" tickbox to open up extra options, which warns people about dangers of UI manipulation, combined with a chunky "Reset" button in-case anything goes wrong.
