Upgrade to Windows7 and MOD issues

I finally upgraded my windows vista to windows 7. Now, None of my mods or key bindings save when I exit my character. I have tried reloading all mods and Installing 1 at a time, but doesnt matter the mod it resets on logout.

Ive been battling for 5 hours and extremely frustrated. Any help would be welcome

Also be sure you didn't install it to the program files directory, which doesn't have write priviledges. Default should have been the /users/public/games folder but maybe you changed it.

so windows 7 uses the same annoying security features everyone hated in vista?

have to run as admin for every action as well as cant put "programs" in the program folder if you want them to run right?

*blinks*

if this is true, i think there is not many reasons left to upgrade.

It's a good security feature and shouldn't be bypassed by using administrator to do everything.

There are various options, including installing WoW to a safe folder outside of C:\Program Files. Another is to simply recursively set your user account as the owner for the WoW folder.

I just don't really see the point in having to run something as admin if you don't have to type in an admin password... :S

You do have to type an admin pass, when you log in.

Or don't install games to "Program Files". They shouldn't be in that folder - Program Files is for things that run, but save their info in another folder.

Games generally save their info into a subfolder of themselves, and because of that should be installed in areas where you actually have write access.

I don't have to grant admin to my WoW and everything saves. I just let it install to the default place and went about my day.
