trying to pick a Unitframe mod/ui

hello there everyone,
I enjoy finding mods that are dynamic and easy to use that make playing a bit easier. I also like nice clean dynamic Interfaces. I want to start using oUF, openRDX or one of the other all in one Interfaces. I would like to read up a little on each and how to make changes.
So Basically I am looking for-
1)suggestions and some reasons why for each
2)Links to sites and docs on oUF, openRDX etc to how to use them/edit.

I looked around the site for a link or a compendium of some sort for any of them and found the forums, trying to work through that just to get an idea for the format was a bit daunting.

Thanks

oUF is not an "all in one interface" by any stretch of imagination, it just supplies a backend for unit frames. It's also a long shot from user-friendly, and so is probably not what you're after. You might want to tell us a bit about your background, particularly in relation to addons, so we can help give you some direction.

If you're after an all in one replacement UI, many forum members are devoted to nUI. I'm still of the opinion that crafting your own UI is the best way to go, but if nothing else you should get some ideas there.

Neither oUF nor OpenRDX are very user friendly. Without a lot of time to test, screw up, relearn, retest, so on... you will end up frustrated. If you are good with LUA, oUF might be up your alley. If you have a lot of friends/guildmates that use OpenRDX that might be good for you too.

If you just want something to set and go for a unitframe mod, there are several other, less daunting, options.

XPerl - http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nitFrames.html
STUF - http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nitFrames.html
Shadowed Unit Frames - http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nitFrames.html
Sage - http://www.wowinterface.com/download...nitFrames.html

XPerl has the cleanest and most useful, straight out of the box, install (in my opinion). However, it lacks good raid frame resizing options, and doesn't have a *lot* of options for changing it's looks.

Stuf has possibly the biggest amount of customization options.

Shadowed and Sage, while not *quite* as malleable as Stuf, are both excellent UF addons as well.

You could try Lunar Unit Frames aswell, it uses oUF as a framework:

my background.. Well I have messed with Lua code a bit and know enough to get myself in trouble. I was just looking for a better Resource Documentation for Lua that was specific to oUF or just a good Lua doc.

I prefer to craft my own UI rather than using an all-in-one, picking and choosing my Add-ons. Data Broker add-ons are some of my favorites.

I am a fan of RingThing and the other orb style layouts, With a sphere I think its possible to put a ton of info in an easy to digest form.

I was wondering is there a replacement for Trinket Menu? Or is it now defunct due to UI changes made by blizzard?

Thanks for the links, and any additional help/comments/suggestions/questions are always appreciated.
