Tabbed InfoPanel

The InfoPanel is a great feature, but I was thinking that in version 6, it could be improved by changing the current UI using a button that cycles through windows into a tabbed pane similar to the chat window. This would allow immediate access to the panel of interest, without cycling through unwanted items.

Ideally, the user could drag panes to rearrange their order in the window, and hide/unhide them.

Even better would be the ability to drag a particular tab out of the InfoPanel to position it somewhere else in the UI, possibly drag a corner to resize, use it, and then drag it back to dock in the InfoPanel when you no longer need it undocked.

It would obviously take some work, but from my admittedly incomplete understanding, it seems doable.

Doable, yes, but it does have its complexities... some of which are geometric, as in the space the tabs take up reduces the space available to other things. But it is an interesting idea. That said, what I had in mind was more like a fly-out. I'll have to think on it.

Fly outs like the pet summon thing from blizz ?

Think those are handy when you have 4 or 5 things in it, get to many and it gets clumsy imho.. But then again, so would tabs..

That was something I was trying to figure out with the new ChatDocking system that blizz set up . Unfortunately its not finished and at present there seems to be only one Dock that can be had.

But yeah the idea sounds cool, but would definitely take some work to get working well.
